Remedy Entertainment has officially announced that their upcoming game, titled “Firebreak in the Coalition“, is set to launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on June 17th. This new project signifies a fresh direction for the team behind the beloved games, “Alan Wake” and the original “Max Payne”. Notably, “Firebreak in the Coalition” marks Remedy’s debut into the realm of multiplayer cooperative shooters.
In the upcoming game “FBC: Firebreak”, fans of “Control” may recognize some elements like the setting, enemies, and characters, but newcomers to the Remedyverse will likely be experiencing the mysterious Oldest House for the first time upon its release this year. The story follows on from “Control” events, placing players as members of the Federal Bureau of Control’s Firebreak unit, tasked with clearing up residual extradimensional threats. While it appears Jesse Faden’s character from “Control” won’t be playable this time around, players can expect to handle a diverse assortment of Altered Items as weapons in the first-person multiplayer shooter setting.
Firebreak: FBC, previously teasing fans about its upcoming game features since last year’s formal unveiling, has now officially confirmed a release date across all platforms – June 17th. Excitingly, subscribers of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PlayStation Plus will enjoy the game on launch day. The standard version retails at $39.99 USD, while the Deluxe Edition is available for $49.99. For PC gamers, purchasing options include Steam or the Epic Games store.
FBC: Firebreak Release Date
- June 17
Apart from an opportune launch date for FBC: Firebreak, the recent developer update has granted fans a more extensive peek into the gameplay than previously seen. This sneak peek showcased some of the novel weapons, adversaries, and features at play. Players will have the liberty to assemble their loadouts from an array of diverse weaponry and paranatural items, ranging from colossal wrenches to explosive garden gnomes.
In Firebreak, teams comprised of only three individuals will embark on missions, leading fans back to familiar territories within The Oldest House, as well as introducing fresh battlegrounds. Although Firebreak: Firebreak has been billed as a standalone game and narrative, it promises to keep Remedy enthusiasts engaged while serving as a link between Control and its upcoming sequel, which is currently in production.
