Fortunately, the people of Oregon had erected historical markers to preserve their tales, offering survivors an opportunity to delve into history amidst their constant search for resources and their struggle to avoid becoming a Freaker’s next meal.
Scattered throughout the map, you’ll find 43 historical markers. Let’s embark on an adventure to uncover each one, diving into the past as we go!
Certain spots might house Freakers and adversaries, or they could be unreachable until a later stage in the game’s narrative.
Where To Find Every Historical Marker Collectible In Days Gone Remastered
Historically significant landmarks often take the form of metal signs affixed to stones or structures, but they may not always appear this way. Here’s a list of their locations in sequential order:
Markers denoting historical significance commonly resemble metal plaques fixed onto rocks and walls, but they can vary in appearance. Listed below are the locations of these markers in numerical sequence:
1. Peter Skene Ogden – “Fur Trade Warrior”
You’re probably going to come across your first historical landmark here. It’s a statue located at the Old Pioneer Cemetery in the Cascade area, and that’s where you’ll find Alvarez when you start the initial mission of the game.
2. Grotto Caves – “The Buried Caves”
The upcoming collectible is located just a bit past the Peter Skene Ogden statue. You’ll find it as a plaque on a stone. Prepare yourself, as you’ll encounter many similar ones.
3. Caldera Reservoir – “Bombs In The River”
Near the Peter Skene Ogden statue, situated to the southwest, you’ll come across a lake believed to be the Caldera Reservoir. There, you should find a park notice board with a commemorative plaque attached to it.
4. Rainbow Falls – “Path Of The Spirits”
Head towards the northern side of the Caldera Reservoir, and you’ll discover a plaque fixed onto a stone close to a tiny waterfall.
5. Peaceful Lake – “Battle On The Misty Lake”
South of Copeland’s Camp, you’ll find this plaque on a rock overlooking the water.
6. Teller Cabin – “The Horror House”
Another plaque on a rock. This one will be northwest of Copeland’s Camp next to a ruined house.
7. Belknap Crater – “Belknap’s Volcano”
Next, make your way towards the Belknap area. You’ll find a plaque on a stone close by, where two benches are placed, offering a panoramic view of a crater located northwest from the Belknap Caves Ambush Camp.
8. Salome Hot Springs – “The Salt Springs”
This plaque on a rock will be just outside the Hot Springs Encampment to the west.
9. Belknap Caves – “The Lava River Caves”
During the mission “What Have They Done,” your destination will be marked by a wooden sign nestled within the network of tunnels at the Belknap Caves National Monument, situated to the west of the Belknap Caves Ambush Camp.
10. McKenzie Pass – “Robber’s Pass”
This plaque on a rock will be on a Y-shaped road west of the Crazy Willie’s fuel station.
11. Indigenous Petroglyphs – “Stories in Stone”
The marker on a stone is located at the most northerly point on the map, within the Belknap area, close to a waterbody. It’s also near some ancient indigenous paintings on a rock face.
12. Memorial of the Unknown Mailman – “Pioneer Mailman”
The plaque will be located near a tree and some blooming flowers, situated in the Belknap area, southwest of the Hot Springs Outpost and northeast of the Black Crater Skirmish Camp.
13. Three Fingered Jack Viewpoint – “Old Hot Fingers”
This plaque on a rock will be on top of the Three Fingered Jack mountain in the Belknap region.
14. The Lava Arch – “Lava River Cave”
Just beyond the previous historic landmark, you’ll come across another one situated near a cave, in the area known as Belknap.
15. Berley Lake – “The Moon Country”
The upcoming historical landmark will lead you deep into the Iron Butte region, situated amidst a snow-covered landscape close to a circular lake, which lies northwest of the Santiam Tunnel Nero Checkpoint.
16. Moon Tree – “Grown from Outer Space”
This plaque will be on the barrier around the giant tree in the middle of Iron Mike’s Encampment.
17. Metolius Lava Cave – “Distillery Cave”
Heading north from Iron Mike’s Camp, you will discover a plaque on a stone near the Metolius Lava Cave marker. This should help guide your way.
18. Architectural Memorial – “The Community Builder”
The sign will be mounted on the exterior of a prominent red structure located in a town to the northeast of Iron Mike’s Camp.
19. Booker-Hicks Logging Camp – “The Wandering Timber Town”
The signboard located near the Cascade Lakes Railways Ambush Camp in the Crater Lake area, which is northwest and amidst snowy, ancient logging camps, will bear this plaque.
20. Camp Pioneer – “The Grand Campsite”
During the storyline, you’ll come across a historical marker situated at Sherman’s Camp, nestled within the Lost Lake area.
21. Lost Cabin Mine – “The Goldmine”
I’ll leave a marker on the rocky cliff, just beyond the abandoned mine to the northwest of the Diamond Lake Camp. That place is nestled within the breathtaking landscape of the Crater Lake area.
22. Crater Lake – “The Volcanic Lake”
The information sign about Crater Lake’s history can be found at the visitor center, which is located southeast from Wizard Island Campground. Specifically, it will be an outdoor educational display mounted on a wall inside the building.
23. Crater Lake – “The Native American Legend”
The sign affixed to this boulder is positioned atop a cliff, offering panoramic views of Crater Lake, situated to the east of the Wizard Island Campground.
24. Outlaw Memorial – “The Oregon Legend”
To get there, you should head back to the town of Marion Forks located in the Belknap region. In that town, you’ll find an ancient structure known as the Old Wagon Hotel with wagon wheels mounted on it. Look for a plaque situated near the entrance on the wall.
25. Captain Jack – “The Modoc Warrior”
Next, proceed south from the last collectible item you encountered. You’ll spot a plaque affixed to a stone near a roadway, situated smack in the center of an expanse enclosed by dark rocks.
26. The 45th Parallel – “The Halfway Point”
The plaque is located near Iron Mike’s Encampment, to the north-east, and slightly to the west of a fuel station.
The plaque can be found close by Iron Mike’s Camp to the northeast and not far from a fuel station to the southwest.
27. Crater Lake – “The Old Man Of The Lake”
This plaque on a rock is close to the water northeast of the Wizard Island Encampment.
28. Mazama Village – “The New Deal Projects”
The given marker can be found north-west from the Spruce Lake Ambush Camp, situated in the south-western part of the Crater Lake area. You will spot it in front of a residence where a green pickup truck is usually parked.
29. Mazama Falls – “The Silent Falls”
This marker is a little north of the Spruce Lake Ambush Camp outside a cave near a waterfall.
30. The Phantom Ship – “The Ghost On The Water”
The given marker is situated slightly southeast from the spot where you discovered marker 23. Furthermore, it’s perched atop a cliff that overlooks Crater Lake, specifically to the east of the Wizard Island Campground.
31. Camp Adair – “The War Games”
From here, proceed towards the east, past the latest historical landmark. You will spot a specific plaque affixed to a stone that stands close to a gazebo.
32. Gentleman Bandit Memorial – “Poetic Justice”
The rock with this plaque is situated near a tree along a dusty country road, southeastern to Chemult Community College, in the vicinity of Highway 97.
33. Bill “The Grey Fox” Miner – “Oregon’s Worst Bandit”
Located in the Highway 97 area is a quaint little town named Chemult, where you’ll discover a parking lot filled with blue school buses and a compact green house nearby. Nearby, there’s a stone with a plaque on it, positioned close to a ramp, not far from the house.
34. The Stagecoach Legend – “Rushing for Gold”
Just beyond the final item you’re seeking, you’ll find a plaque on a stone, nestled near a billboard by an automotive supplies store.
35. Japanese Balloon Bomb – “The Casualties Of War”
The sign attached to this boulder can be found on a hill located northwest of the Bare Bay Ambush Camp, which is situated in the south-eastern part of the Highway 97 area.
36. Margaret Alice Miller – “The Guardian Angel”
Visiting this collectible takes you right back to the Old Pioneer Cemetery nestled in the Cascade region. Near historical marker 1, on the eastern side, there lies an angel statue, enveloped by moss.
37. Devil’s Lake – “View Of The Cascades”
Near the Wagon Road Ambush Camp, situated in the Iron Butte area, you’ll come across a rock with an inscription near a tree, perched atop a cliff that overlooks Devil’s Lake.
38. Waldo Lake – “The Oregon Conservationist”
The sign on this boulder is situated close to the Waldo Lake Dam, within the Iron Butte district, which lies to the north of Redwood RV Park and Camp Ambush Camp.

Perched high atop a cliff, a plaque on this rocky outcrop offered a cryptic glimpse into what lay below – an area that might be submerged, depending on the twists and turns of my ongoing adventure.
41. Iron Butte – “The Iron Mountain”
As I delve deeper into this captivating game world, I’ll come across an ancient artifact nestled on a cliffside just northeast of the spot where I discovered Historical Marker 35. Keep your eyes peeled!
42. Lucky Lad Mines – “The Gold Rush Mines”
To the north of the Deerborn Ambush Camp, situated in the east of the Lost Lakes area, you will come across a plaque affixed to a stone near the entrance of a mine.
43. Iron Butte Meteorite – “Gift from the Sky”
The final historical landmark lies to the south of the Wagon Road Ambush Camp and to the northeast of marker number 37 in the Iron Butte area. You’ll find it as another informational stone set by the side of a dusty trail.
