You Won’t Believe Where You Can Find the Graves of Red Dead Redemption 2’s Most Beloved Characters

1899 was a harsh time for outlaws, and not everyone who embarked on this lawless life would survive until dawn. In the game Red Dead Redemption 2, there are heart-wrenching deaths that players will experience, leaving them with only memories to cherish and a handful of graves to visit as they pay their respects to the fallen comrades they encountered during their journey.

To honor the Van der Linde gang members who meet unfortunate fates in “Red Dead Redemption 2,” or to earn the “Paying Respects” achievement, players must be aware of the exact locations for each grave site within the game.

The graves mentioned will be listed in order of appearance

9. Jenny Kirk

Location: Spider Gorge, North of Colter, Grizzlies West, in Ambarino

  • Found After: Enter, Pursued by a Memory (Chapter 1)

In simpler terms, Jenny Kirk was among the youngest members of the Van der Linde gang and tragically didn’t survive. She passed away prior to the storyline of Red Dead Redemption 2 due to injuries from a shootout during the botched ferry job in Blackwater that took place in 1899.

Jenny Kirk was buried near the initial hideout of the gang, up North in Colter. Her resting place is nestled within Spider Gorge, located in the western part of Ambarino, surrounded by trees. A simple wooden cross grave marker, engraved with her name using a knife, marks her final resting spot.

8. Davey Callander

Location: Small graveyard in Colter, Grizzlies West, Ambarino

  • Found After: Enter, Pursued by a Memory (Chapter 1)

As a gamer, I was part of the Van der Linde gang alongside the Callander brothers, but things took a turn for Mac during the disastrous ferry job. He got captured before the story of Red Dead Redemption 2 unfolded. Sadly, Davey didn’t make it to Colter with us; he met his end before our journey began due to injuries that proved fatal.

In the neglected cemetery known as Colter’s, you can locate Davey’s burial site. This cemetery holds numerous tombstones, but among them stands one unique to Davey Callander – a gravestone crafted from rocks and a wooden board, bearing his name for those who wish to honor this notorious figure.

7. Sean Macguire

Location: North of Clemens Point outlooking Flat Iron Lake in the state of Lemoyne

  • Found After: A Short Walk in a Pretty Town (Chapter 3)

In simple terms, Sean Macguire, who was often compared to Arthur Morgan’s younger brother, met an unfortunate end when he was killed by the Gray family during an attack in Rhodes. His demise was swift following a gunshot wound to the head. After the town of Rhodes was purged of Grays, Bill Williamson was assigned the solemn duty of burying Sean.

Sean’s resting place lies to the west of Southfield Flats, boasting a tranquil, pleasant view of Flat Iron Lake. It is adorned with a simple wooden cross and stones that conceal the burial site. A tree stands tall above him, providing constant peace and shade.

6. Kieran Duffy

Location: Small graveyard in Colter, Grizzlies West, Ambarino

  • Found After: Horsemen, Apocalypses (Chapter 4)

In a world that proved harsh to Kieran Duffy, a young man seeking a better life, he found himself associating with the wrong crowd. Kieran had a deep love for horses, but his connections with the O’Driscolls and Van der Linde gang would ultimately lead to his demise. Tragically, the O’Driscolls kidnapped him in Shady Belle due to what they perceived as his betrayal, leading to an untimely and undeservedly gruesome fate for Kieran.

Kieran’s eyes were removed and his head was cut off, leaving his body unrecognizable. Later, the Van der Linde gang buried him in an open field west of Shady Belle, marking the grave with a wooden sign and a dug-up area, providing a final resting place for him.

5. Hosea Matthews

Location: East of Lakay in Bluewater Marsh, Lemoyne

  • Found After: Fleeting Joy (Chapter 5)

Dutch Van der Linde’s most trusted confidant and the sole individual whose advice he would always heed was Hosea Matthews, an older companion who had ridden alongside Dutch since the start. Tragically, after a failed bank robbery in Saint Denis, Hosea was captured and brutally killed by Agent Milton from the Pinkertons. The execution was carried out with a gunshot to the chest, which resulted in a slow, painful demise for Hosea.

Hosea’s burial place is located in the Bluewater Marsh, east of Lakay, under a tree near a close friend. His last wish before passing was to be buried among friends and those he cherished, and it appears that his request was granted at his final resting site.

4. Lenny Summers

Location: East of Lakay in Bluewater Marsh, Lemoyne

  • Found After: Fleeting Joy (Chapter 5)

Unfortunately, Lenny Summers, a promising young man, met an untimely end as society moved away from tolerating outlaws. During the chaotic escape from Saint Denis following the unsuccessful bank robbery, Lenny was fatally shot by law enforcement officials. Regrettably, his lifeless body had to be abandoned during their hasty retreat.

Lenny Summers and Hosea Matthews share a similar resting place, and these lifelong companions are interred side by side beneath a tranquil tree in the secluded Bluewater Marsh of Lemoyne – far removed from urban life, finding their eternal rest together.

3. Eagle Flies

Location: South of Wapiti Indian Reservation overlooking Donner Falls, Grizzlies East, Ambarino

  • Found After: My Last Boy (Chapter 6)

Eagle Flies, a young Native American, was influenced by Dutch van der Linde and intensified his anger towards the U.S. Government due to their mistreatment of his tribe. Residing on the Wapiti Indian Reservation, Eagle Flies’ animosity toward the U.S. Army didn’t cease, eventually leading to a confrontation with Colonel Favours that resulted in his death. His grieving father was Rains Fall.

Currently, Eagle Flies resides a short distance south of the Wapiti Indian Reservation, perched above the breathtaking Donner Falls. Adventurers will discover his grave, denoted by a weathered stick and adorned with his bandanna, fluttering gracefully in the wind amidst the beauty of nature.

2. Susan Grimshaw

Location: South West of Elysian Pool, Roanoke Ridge, in New Hanover

  • Found After: Simple Pleasures (Epilogue, Part 1)

As a gamer, I’d put it like this: Every crew needs a tough cookie like Susan Grimshaw – a woman who’s firm as iron and fair as justice. Loyal to the Van der Linde gang and always striving for what’s right, she was a beacon of integrity. Tragically, during a heated standoff between the Van der Linde gang, John Marston, and Arthur Morgan, it was Micah Bell who ended her life in a hail of bullets after she bravely tried to intervene and prevent the chaos.

Susan shouldn’t have met an untimely end surrounded by the Pinkertons amidst chaos, and Charles Smith subsequently laid her to rest southwest of Elysian Pool, atop Roanoke Ridge in New Hanover. Her final resting place is denoted by a simple marker, adorned with her necklace.

1. Arthur Morgan

Location: North East of Bacchus Bridge, on a cliff facing the sun in Grizzlies East, Ambarino

  • Found After: Simple Pleasures (Epilogue, Part 1)

In the game “Red Dead Redemption 2,” the main character Arthur Morgan succumbed to a fatal case of tuberculosis. He contracted this disease from a scuffle with Thomas Downes, a debtor who owed the Van der Linde gang money. Arthur’s story of redemption concludes with his death, and if he has high honor, he passes away on a cliffside, gazing at the sunrise, content in the knowledge that he had protected John, Abigail, and Jack.

Charles Smith discovers Arthur’s remains and chooses to inter him atop the Ambarino cliffs, so that his resting place will command a view of both sunset and sunrise. He does this with the belief that Arthur, having been a decent man, would find peace knowing this.
