Cha Hae-In Fights Jin-Woo’s Most Powerful Shadow Swordsman
Jin-Woo’s Application Test for Cha Hae-In
Cha Hae-In is known as one of Korea’s top S-rank hunters because of her exceptional swordsmanship, which has earned her the nickname “The Dancer.” She also holds a high position in the Hunters Guild, serving as vice master under Choi Jong-In. After the events on Jeju Island, Cha Hae-In decides to join Jin-Woo’s newly formed guild, Ahjin, to learn more about him and his abilities. However, to become a member of Ahjin, she must first demonstrate her skills by defeating one of Jin-Woo’s strongest shadow warriors.
In the army’s elite group, Jin-Woo selects Igris as his opponent against Cha Hae-In, proudly asserting that Igris is his strongest swordsman. Instead of opting for Beru, Jin-Woo believes Igris has the ability to face off against Cha due to his respect for her past ordeal with the Ant King. Despite this, the battle proves evenly matched since Hae-In too is a highly skilled swordsman who can hold her own against Igris in a duel.
“I’ll ask you again. Will you really be okay?”—Jin-Woo to Cha Hae-In
Despite Hae-In thinking Beru might be her adversary, she’s open to facing any challenger if it means joining the guild and battling alongside Jin-Woo. However, it appears that Jin-Woo doubts Hae-In’s abilities, believing she wouldn’t stand a chance against Igris at this point in time. Keeping in mind that Hae-In appeared shaky and was only recently recovering from the events on Jeju Island.
Cha Hae-In Fights Igris One-on-One
Spare Sword vs. Demon King’s Longsword

The confrontation between Hae-In and Igris unfolds within the gym of the Hunter’s Association. With no weapons readily available to her, Cha resorts to a backup weapon kept in the gym’s storage, which isn’t her customary sword for battling Igris. It was merely a sparring weapon, not top-notch. However, given Cha’s proficiency with weapons, the type of tool she uses doesn’t make much difference.
The fight between Hae-In and Igris occurs in the gym of the Hunter’s Association. Since Cha doesn’t have her usual sword, she grabs a spare one for sparring instead. It’s not the best weapon but it works since Cha is skilled enough to handle any weapon effectively.
Jin-Woo asked Cha Hae-In, “Would you feel comfortable with this? It’s a bit different from the swords you’re used to, so it might not be your perfect fit.
In the meantime, Jin-Woo grants Igris access to the Demon King’s Longsword. This S-rank longsword harnesses the might of the Demon King Baran and is known for its destructive force, the storm of white lightning. With each strike, it summons a relentless storm of lightning towards its target, adding to its already daunting presence. However, this doesn’t deter Cha Hae-In, showcasing her unwavering faith in her skills.
The Fight Begins
Cha Hae-In Surprisingly Wins the Fight

- Webtoon Chapter: Chapter 113
- Story Arc: Ahjin Guild Arc
- Winner: Cha Hae-In
The skirmish commences as Igris lashes out with his longsword towards Cha Hae-In. Fortunately, she deftly dodges each strike, or else a mere brush could have proven fatal. However, the comic doesn’t provide sufficient details about the combat since it switches focus to Chairman Go Gun-Hee rather than the battle itself. Nonetheless, it’s evident that Cha manages to subdue Igris swiftly, as evidenced by Jin-Woo’s quick glance at a fallen Igris.
No matter what, Cha Hae-In surpasses Jin-Woo’s expectations. Contrary to what others assumed, she didn’t back down against Igris and even got a chance to fight Beru one-on-one, surprising Jin-Woo given his reservations. Although the battle with Beru took an unforeseen turn, it doesn’t diminish the fact that Cha bested one of Jin-Woo’s formidable shadows. If Cha had faced Igris as Jin-Woo did previously, the outcome might have been different for her. If so, who knows what could have transpired?
“Didn’t you say that you’d call out your strongest summon?”—Cha Hae-In to Jin-Woo
To put it simply, Cha Hae-In undeniably stands out as an exceptional S-rank hunter in the world of Solo Leveling. Her strength has rightfully earned her the title of Korea’s strongest female hunter, battling alongside Jin-Woo against a variety of monsters and entities. If given more opportunities to showcase her potential, she could have been an ideal candidate for Norma Selner’s powers. Perhaps, with the right circumstances, she might even prove herself worthy of becoming a vessel similar to Thomas Andre.
