The anime adaptation of “Solo Leveling” has been captivating fans of both anime and manga for years now, living up to their expectations. The initial season was filled with excitement, boasting exceptional action sequences and rapid character growth, with Jinwoo’s transformation being a particularly memorable moment. Yet, the second season of “Solo Leveling” raises the bar even higher.
It’s interesting to highlight the good fortune that seemingly follows certain characters with special powers and skills in this series. Whether it’s blind luck, a combination of luck and determination, or an uncanny gut feeling guiding them, these remarkably lucky Solo Leveling characters have managed to escape life-threatening situations and accomplish goals that others might deem impossible. These fortuitous incidents play pivotal roles in shaping their lives and personalities today.
8. Ahn Sangmin
The Lucky Recruiter Who Got Scammed
- Manhwa Debut: Chapter 38
It’s rather ironic that Ahn Sangmin, who seemed so lucky due to being the first to uncover Jinwoo’s secret independently, from Jinho’s acquisition of multiple C-Rank dungeons to Jinwoo’s involvement in nearly every unusual incident at the time, still fell victim to a scam.
Having observed another unusual incident at one of the gates they controlled, with their team posted outside and Jinwoo/Jinho pair inside, he made an attempt to persuade this incredible asset to become a member of his guild. Despite being tricked during the process, he managed to acquire Jinwoo’s contact information and remained determined to secure this promising recruit, unwilling to let the opportunity slip away.
7. Yoo Soohyun
Fortunate By Association
- Manhwa Debut: Chapter 56
Soohyun, another ally of Yoo Jinho and Sung Jinwoo, wasn’t technically on the brink of death, but he was certainly fortunate. Unusually, Soohyun, being a hunter, showed little enthusiasm for his profession. However, this lack of interest turned out to be just what Jinho required in their guild’s third member.
Initially, she had intended to turn down his invitation, but upon learning that Jinwoo was involved, she altered her decision. Later, she snapped a selfie with him which gained widespread popularity, causing Jinwoo some embarrassment on the day of the guild’s inaugural raid as he was surrounded by journalists.
6. Lee Joohee
Lucked Out, But At What Cost?
- Manhwa Debut: Chapter 1
Even though Joohee holds a B-rank as a healer, she harbors an intense fear of the perils hidden within dungeons. Unfortunately, she encountered one of the most catastrophic dungeon incidents that could befall a hunter, yet fortunately, she was among the few who survived.
Despite others experiencing numerous fortunate breaks, it required an extraordinary dose of good fortune for her to make it through the dungeon. Frequently close to death, she was rescued just in time by Jinwoo on almost every occasion. Regrettably, this ordeal left deep scars on her psyche, impairing her abilities as a healer and eventually leading to her decision to step away from her profession altogether.
5. Song Chi-Yul
A Survivor Of The Double Dungeon Incident
- Manhwa Debut: Chapter 2
As the head of the team that encountered the Double Dungeon ordeal, Chi-Yul wasn’t merely a facilitator for the lucky turns in Jinwoo’s fate but also someone who received the favorable interventions of Lady Luck herself. Despite losing an arm within the dungeon, he managed to survive, narrowly escaping with his life by trusting his instincts and those of Jinwoo.
In the Dungeon and Prisoners storyline, it was Jinwoo who rescued him when they were both attacked by Taeshik. Despite having a significant level of ability, even with only one arm, he could’ve met his end if not for the timely intervention of Jinwoo.
4. Yoo Myunghan
Survival Through Family Connection
- Manhwa Debut: Chapter 57
In a turn of events, Myunghan found himself in a fortunate situation when it mattered most, despite initially being reluctant about his son, Jinho, leaving the guild to join Jinwoo’s. Originally, he had intended for Jinho to recruit Jinwoo due to his exceptional abilities, but upon learning of Jinho’s intentions, Myunghan chose to sever ties with him completely and expel him from the guild.
Yet, he succumbed to an affliction called Eternal Slumber, similar to that which struck Jinwoo’s mother. If it weren’t for Jinwoo’s concern over his friend’s suffering, he may not have been rescued. Later, Myunghan reciprocated this kindness by vowing to protect Jinwoo’s sister and mother if Jinwoo were to perish himself.
3. Han Song-Yi
Luck By Abandonment
- Manhwa Debut: Chapter 37
Among the few individuals employed by Jinho, Song-Yi’s role was essentially to wait outside the gate without performing any tasks while Jinho and Jinwoo ventured into the dungeon. Her fortunate association with Jinwoo proved crucial in shaping her life significantly. Upon entering the dungeon, she discovered it was a Red Gate; consequently, her initial team opted to leave her behind with Jinwoo to fight the boss of the dungeon instead.
Her leaving behind everything turned out to be a fortunate turn of events; everyone on the team except Kim Chul met their demise at the hands of enemies that Jinwoo effortlessly overcame. The traumatic ordeal, which she miraculously survived, left her petrified, prompting her to prioritize her education and return to school.
2. Yoo Jinho
Survived A Near-Death Trap Thanks To A Strong Ally
- Manhwa Debut: Chapter 37
On a particularly fortunate day, Jinho crossed paths with Jinwoo. Although they were thrust into an uncharted special operations unit together, Jinho had never heard of Jinwoo prior to this encounter. A dangerous trap laid for them by the team put Jinho’s life at risk, but it was Jinwoo’s expertise that ultimately saved him from peril.
This extraordinary run of good fortune transformed his existence. He transitioned from battling to meet the required quota for establishing a guild, to swiftly raiding dungeons at an unprecedented pace – all with Sung Jinwoo as his ally. It’s almost amusing to imagine that he once trembled before Jinwoo and believed himself destined for failure in the dungeon.
1. Sung Jinwoo
Blessed By The System
- Manhwa Debut: Chapter 1
In the world of Solo Leveling, it’s clear that Jinwoo has been incredibly fortunate. While he did employ his intelligence and quick decision-making skills to stay alive, surviving the Double Dungeon as one of the six remaining hunters wasn’t solely due to his physical strength. Moreover, not only was he able to endure the dungeon, but he was also selected by the system, an event that significantly improved his life for the better.
Beyond granting Sung Jinwoo the permanent role of a hunter, continually enhancing his power and proficiency, this system also provides him with scarcely found artifacts. These valuable items prove beneficial in various situations, like the elixir of life, which he utilized to rescue his mother from certain death.
