Spoilers Ahead for Buffy the Vampire Slayer
8. Harmony
The Butterfly Vampire

- First Episode: Season 1, Episode 2, “The Harvest”
As a movie critic, I’d rephrase it like this: In the supernatural world of the show, I, Harmony Kendall, was turned into a vampire by none other than Mayor Wilkins and served as his loyal enforcer. However, my story took an unexpected turn when I met my untimely end, only to be resurrected. This twist led me into a romantic entanglement with Spike, but eventually, I found myself transitioning to the spin-off series, Angel.
At first glance, Harmony appears to be an alluring and guileless young lady. Yet, this facade hides her deceptive nature as she manipulates her unsuspecting targets. Endowed with exceptional speed and power due to being a vampire, though not the most powerful in the series, Harmony demonstrates a formidable presence all her own.
7. Faith
The Fallen Slayer

- First Episode: Season 3, Episode 3, “Faith, Hope, & Trick”
Faith, in essence, emerged following Buffy’s initial demise, an event that set off the process by which her Slayer powers were passed on to the next worthy successor. Unlike Buffy, Faith is characterized by self-assuredness, a tendency towards impulsive actions, and a questionable moral compass, tinted by cynicism.
As a Slayer like Buffy, Faith boasts the same powers but lacks the training and self-control. Yet, Faith has frequently engaged in fierce battles against highly formidable creatures, demons included, as well as adversaries such as Spike and Angel. Remarkably, she’s always emerged victorious from these encounters.
6. Spike
The Vampire With A Heart Of Gold

- First Episode: Season 2, Episode 3, “School Hard”
Spike is a well-loved and enduring character from the television series “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.” Initially, Spike was portrayed as the main adversary of the show, being a 200-year-old wicked vampire who aimed to slay his third slayer. However, over time, Spike’s character evolves and becomes less menacing.
Apart from being recognized as William the Bloody, Spike was a formidable vampire, boasting immense power and agility, capable of matching forces with Buffy and numerous other adversaries simultaneously. As the series progressed, Spike underwent several transformation phases, eventually becoming a vampire equipped with a soul who chose to fight for righteousness instead.
5. Angel
The Vampire With A Soul

- First Episode: Season 1, Episode 1, “Welcome to the Hellmouth”
Angel, initially portrayed as a romantic interest for the protagonist in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, later transformed into the primary adversary when it was disclosed he was a vampire. Plagued by a soul, Angel has spent countless years grappling with guilt due to his eternal existence marked by violence.
As a cinephile, I’d say it like this: After being consumed by darkness yet again, I found myself slipping back into my ancient, ruthless persona – Angelus. With almost three centuries of combat experience, I’ve faced every kind of demon and dark deity imaginable, making me a formidable warrior even without my vampiric powers of strength, speed, and regeneration.
4. Willow
A Powerful Witch With A Dark Side

- First Episode: Season 1, Episode 1, “Welcome to the Hellmouth”
In the captivating world of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I find myself deeply connected with the character known as Willow. She’s more than just a member of the Scooby gang; she’s Buffy’s cherished friend. Over the course of the series, Willow transforms into an integral part of our crew, guided by Giles and immersing herself in the mystical arts. As her abilities grow, so does her power as a wicca, enabling her to weave enchantments and perform rituals that prove instrumental in Buffy’s battles against darkness.
When my emotions overwhelm me – guilt, anger swirling within – I unwittingly tap into dark energies. The power I wield becomes terrifying, even for Buffy, causing her to maintain a cautious distance. I’ve been known to strip the flesh from a man with a mere flick of my wrist, and I came close to tearing open a portal to hell. Such threats cannot be ignored or underestimated.
3. Giles
A Dedicated Watcher

- First Episode: Season 1, Episode 1, “Welcome to the Hellmouth”
Giles serves as Buffy’s guide and mentor, a role tasked with readying slayers for their mission to combat evil and safeguard the world. Initially introduced in the first season of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”, he not only provided Buffy with instruction but also offered her trustworthy advice and emotional support.
Displaying a stoic and refined demeanor, Giles stands out as an exceptionally skilled sorcerer, boasting extensive expertise in the arcane and otherworldly, ranging from taboo spells to entities traversing dimensions. In numerous instances, it’s been demonstrated that he is more than equipped to confront any degree of monster, be they vampires or demons. He even engaged Willow following her experimentation with dark magic.
2. Buffy
The Slayer Of All Slayers

- First Episode: Season 1, Episode 1, “Welcome to the Hellmouth”
In this television show, Sarah Michelle Gellar portrays the lead character, Buffy, who is not only the title character but also the guardian of California, and on multiple occasions, the world. Fate has selected her as a weapon against evil, endowing her with extraordinary powers such as superhuman strength, speed, agility, quick reflexes, and even a degree of precognition through the influence of supernatural forces.
Buffy consistently ranks among the most formidable slayers ever, taking on some of history’s most terrifying supernatural adversaries. Remarkably, she demonstrates not only the skill to engage these creatures in close combat but also manages to make it to school on time every morning after such encounters.
1. Glory
A Goddess From Hell

- First Episode: Season 5, Episode 5, “No Place Like Home”
Glory, who was originally a goddess, might be the most deceitful adversary that Buffy and her companions have ever encountered. After being banished and cursed to exist forever in a hellish dimension, Glory is now infamous as a world-ending force across history, more often referred to as “The Unspoken One”.
In divine form, Glory boasts extraordinary power, unthinkable strength, and indomitable durability. During her quest for the Key in “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” she slaughters numerous individuals and relentlessly torments Buffy and her companions. Although Buffy manages to subdue Glory, she achieves this not by killing her but by transforming her back into a human. In defiance of taking her life, it is Giles who delivers the final blow, thereby preventing Glory’s return.
