You Won’t Believe Who’s Replacing Unown In Pokemon Legends Z-A

In the game Pokemon Legends Arceus, players were presented with numerous extensive collection quests designed to encourage exploration of the entire Hisui region in order to catch specific Pokemon. For the upcoming game Pokemon Legends Z-A, it’s expected that collecting Zygarde Cells will replace the Spiritomb Wisps from Arceus. However, it remains unclear which Pokemon will step into the role previously held by Unown. Given the alphabetical theme of Pokemon Legends Z-A and its generation, there’s a possibility that Unown might return. Yet, there are several Pokemon from Kalos that could potentially fill their role instead.

Pokemon Legends Z-A’s Alphabetical Theme Means The Unown Could See A Return

As a devoted fan, I embarked on an exciting adventure in Pokemon Legends Arceus, where I was tasked with solving the mystery of messages written in “Unown script” to uncover the 28 hidden Unown scattered across the Hisui region. Once I had found all these elusive creatures, I gained the opportunity to catch not just ordinary Unown, but also Shiny variants and even rare Alpha Unown, all within the Solaceon Ruins area!

In the region of Kalos, the naming scheme has traditionally been thematic, with the initial games titled as Pokemon X and Y, showcasing Legendary Pokemon Xerneas and Yveltal respectively. The title Pokemon Legends Z-A continues this pattern, with speculation suggesting that the game could heavily feature Zygarde due to its “Z” name, while the purpose of the “A” is yet unclear. Given the alphabetical connection, it’s possible that the puzzle-like Unown creatures will make a return, requiring players to track them down once more in Lumiose City. Unown resembling the letters “Z” and “A” might even play a significant role in the storyline or grant unique rewards upon capture.

Kalos Pokemon That Could Potentially Replace Unown

In the game “Pokemon Legends Z-A (Pokemon X and Y)”, Pokemon from the Kalos region might serve instead of Unown for a big collection quest. The Kalos region, modeled after France, particularly Paris, was emphasized in terms of color and fashion in these games. This emphasis on style wasn’t only seen in stylish outfits for the player character, but also in the design of many Pokemon from that generation.

Vivillon

As a gamer, I’d pick Vivillon, a creature reminiscent of butterflies or moths, which transforms from Spewpa. What sets Vivillon apart is the unique pattern on its wings that reflects various landscapes and ecosystems – think River, Tundra, or High Plains terrains. There’s even a design inspired by the iconic Poke Ball, given away during special occasions. With 20 diverse patterns to collect, hunting for Vivillon around Lumiose City would be an exciting adventure!

Flabebe, Floette, and Florges

Two other Pokemon from Kalos, namely Flabebe and its evolutionary line (Floette and Florges), don’t have as many variations as Unown or Vivillon but are still valuable for a comprehensive collection. Each member in this line has five forms based on the color of their flower, making a total of fifteen if all three evolutions are obtained. Interestingly, Flabebe was one of the first Pokemon shown in the launch trailer for Legends Z-A, suggesting it might have a significant role.

Furfrou

The second Pokemon is Furfrou, a unique creature that doesn’t evolve but can alter its fur design. It boasts ten distinct “cuts” or trims, some of which are acquired through grooming (though they may vary depending on the region in Pokemon GO).

A possible quest for Furfrou could intertwine with Lumiose City’s fashion scene. Players might need to explore various salons and boutiques spread across Kalos to gather different Furfrou trims, mimicking real-world stamp rallies organized by businesses, or even bring a single Furfrou to multiple salons to unlock all its fur styles.
