Young Justice’s Top 10: Who’s the Strongest?

Summary

  • Young Justice is distinct from the Teen Titans and incorporates an array of powerful heroes from both teams.
  • The animated series combined members from both groups, leading to an impressive lineup of unique characters.
  • Individual heroes like Superboy and Wonder Girl are notably stronger than others, showcasing immense power levels.

In contrast to the widely recognized group of young superheroes known as the Teen Titans in the DC Comics universe, the team called Young Justice is frequently misunderstood. While they do share some common members, they are distinct entities. After the original Teen Titans outgrew their teenage years and formed the Titans, the initial lineup of Young Justice comprised Robin (Tim Drake), Impulse, and Superboy. Over time, more heroes joined this team.

In the hit animated show called “Young Justice“, we see the lineup, which combined characters who weren’t in the original comic books. This diverse team blended members from both the Teen Titans and Young Justice groups. The series highlights an array of potent superheroes, and what follows is a ranking of these heroes based on their power levels.

10. Beast Boy

Garfield Logan

  • First Appearance: Doom Patrol #99 (November 1965)
  • Powers & Abilities:
    • Powers: Conduit of The Red (Therianthropy: Animal Mimicry, Bio-Fission, Enhanced Intellect, Regeneration, Flight, Bio-Fusion, Self-Resurrection, Infection, Size Alteration, Superhuman Strength, Superhuman Durability)
    • Abilities: Disguise, Encyclopedic Animal Knowledge, Hand-to-Hand Combat (Advanced), Swimming

Beast Boy is primarily recognized as a part of the Teen Titans, a team initially formed in the 1980s. Yet, it’s worth noting that he has also been a member of Young Justice, a role that carries over throughout the show.

Growing up, Garfield developed an unusual ailment and was given a serum derived from a green monkey. This special concoction transformed his physical form and bestowed upon him the unique talent to morph into any creature. Whenever he shapeshifts, he inherits that animal’s abilities. For example, if he turns into a gorilla, he gets its immense strength, or if he transforms into a bird, he gains the ability to soar through the skies. However, compared to other superheroes in his community, Beast Boy has fewer extraordinary capabilities at his fingertips.

9. Dial H For Hero

Miguel Montez

  • First Appearance: Dial H for Hero #1 (May, 2019)
  • Powers & Abilities:
    • Powers: Owner of the H-Dial and C-Dial

Miguel Montez presently holds the ownership of the H-Dial, a tool that enables its user to metamorphose into a superhero from the ‘Heroverse’ by dialing the letter ‘H’. Each superhero is equipped with distinctive abilities. For instance, one popular character is Monster Truck, a hero based on trucks who is renowned for his tremendous strength and speed, but also has a knack for causing destruction. These transformations are transient, as Miguel reverts back to his normal self once the superhero accomplishes their mission.

Moreover, Miguel possesses the ability to utilize the C-Dial, transforming him into a hero in any critical situation. A notable example of this is SuperMiguel, a character reminiscent of Superman with comparable powers. Despite being relatively new in the hero scene and not yet at the top tier, his potential with the H-Dial and C-Dial is promising.

8. Teen Lantern

Keli Quintela

  • First Appearance: Young Justice Vol 3 #1 (March 2019)
  • Powers & Abilities:
    • Powers: Owner of a Green Lantern Power Battery Pack (Energy Construct Creation, Flight, Enhanced Senses)
    • Abilities: Genius Level Intellect, Multilingualism

Keli Quintela cleverly engineered a device that taps into the power of a Green Lantern Ring without the Green Lantern Corps knowing about it. With this technology, she mentally conjures up solid-light structures to combat wrongdoing, serving as part of the Young Justice team.

As a cinephile, I can’t help but share an exciting update: The actions I took have caught the eye of the Guardians of Oa and they’ve granted me the honor of joining the Green Lantern Corps! Yet, being a novice on this heroic path, my current rank is modest. But if I manage to harness the power of my will and master the Green Lantern ring effectively, there’s a chance I could climb the ranks in the future. Here’s to hoping for great things ahead!

7. Amethyst

Amaya

  • First Appearance: Sword of Sorcery Vol 2 #0 (November 2012)
  • Powers & Abilities:
    • Powers: Blood-Power of Amethyst (Energy Projection, Energy Construct Creation,Crystal Enhancement), Omnilingualism

In the realm of Gems, Amethyst stands as a regal queen, boasting immense magical prowess. She’s capable of crafting and manipulating radiant crystal structures that can take the form of swords, these blades are strong enough to slice through solid matter. The crystals she produces possess diverse capabilities; they can mend wounds, sprout vegetation, and emit intense beams of light, each color representing a unique power.

In the New 52 comic book continuity, she became a part of the latest Young Justice team; however, she hasn’t made an appearance on movie screens nor is she featured in the TV series bearing the same title.

Grant Emerson

  • First Appearance: Damage #1 (April 1994)
  • Powers & Abilities:
    • Powers: Biochemical Fusion Reactor (Superhuman Strength, Superhuman Durability, Superhuman Reflexes, Energy Projection, Fusion Discharge, Super-Leaping)

As a movie buff, I’d put it like this: I, Grant Emerson – son of the legendary Atom, Albert Pratt – found myself growing up in foster care. Little did I know that my life was about to take a thrilling turn when I realized I had the power to harness explosive energy within me. With a body functioning as a living biochemical fusion reactor, I can absorb, store, and unleash raw energy, boosting not only my strength but also my durability. To top it off, this energy can be channeled into powerful energy blasts, making me an unstoppable force!

Following an unfortunate incident where a significant portion of Atlanta was inadvertently damaged, Grant became a member of the Titans. This affiliation later progressed into a period with Young Justice. Despite Damage’s capacity for widespread devastation, his unforeseeable nature restricts his overall efficiency.

5. Shazam, Jr.

Freddy Freeman

  • First Appearance: The Power of Shazam! #3 (May 1995)

    • Abilities: Charisma, Indomitable Will, Stick Fighting, Firearms, Military Protocol

As a devoted film enthusiast, I’d rephrase it like this: I’m Freddy Freeman, brother by choice to the extraordinary Billy Batson. You see, Billy was chosen by the mighty wizard Shazam to bear the powers of six legendary figures – Zeus, Hercules, Atlas, Achilles, Mercury, and myself, Solomon. In a life-or-death situation against the formidable Black Adam, Billy passed on his godly abilities to us, his foster family. And there I was, transformed into Shazam Jr., ready to take on the world!

In the spirit of Solomon’s wisdom, Hercules’ might, Atlas’ endurance, and other extraordinary abilities, Freddy began to think on par with Billy and is now widely recognized as his heir. To build his superhero skills, he became a member of teams like the Teen Titans, Titans, and Young Justice, working alongside other young heroes.

In the series, Kaldur’ahm was initially presented as a new character, later becoming the comics’ replacement for the deceased original Aqualad, Garth. His human name is Jackson Hyde, and he is the son of the infamous Black Manta and a rebellious Atlantean named Lucia from Xebel.

As an Atlantean, Jackson boasts the usual traits of superhuman power, superior vision, toughness, and swiftness. Furthermore, he is proficient in magic. His body markings that glow emit the power to control water (hydrokinesis), which he uses to craft hard-water armament. He also has electrokinesis, much like an electric eel. Just like his animated counterpart, he has become a valuable addition to the Young Justice team and plays a crucial role in their missions.

    • Abilities: Acrobatics, Hand-to-Hand Combat (Advanced), Boxing, Pressure Points, Leadership

Bart Allen, often known as Impulse, possesses extraordinary speed and serves as a vessel for the Speed Force. This cosmic energy empowers him with incredible speed, lightning-fast reflexes, accelerated healing, and the unique power of time travel. His abilities are integral to his character since he hails from the future and is the grandson of Barry Allen, aka The Flash, who journeyed to the 21st century to uphold the family’s heroic lineage.

Together with Superboy and Robin, among others, he established Young Justice, a separate league of young superheroes. Although he eventually became part of the Teen Titans too, they are two different teams. Since Impulse possesses incredible speed, a fight might already be won before it begins, making him an excellent candidate for a top spot on this list.

Cassandra Sandsmark emerged into the world as the child of archaeologist Helena Sandsmark and the demigod explorer Lennox, who was the offspring of Zeus. Yet, it wasn’t until much later that she discovered her ancestry, as her hidden abilities started to surface for the first time.

Under the guidance of her aunt, Wonder Woman, Cassandra boasts an astonishing level of physical power, agility, resilience, flight, and certain magical talents. Known as Wonder Girl, she has demonstrated her might as a reliable team member in groups like the Teen Titans and Young Justice. Time and again, she showcases her ability to tackle formidable challenges that would be beyond the capabilities of ordinary heroes.

1. Superboy

Kon-El / Conner Kent

  • First Appearance: Adventures of Superman #500 (June 1993)
  • Powers & Abilities:
    • Powers: Kryptonian Physiology (Solar Energy Absorption, Heat Vision, Super-Hearing, Enhanced Vision, Electromagnetic Spectrum Vision, Telescopic Vision, X-Ray Vision, Microscopic Vision, Infrared Vision, Flight, Invulnerability, Enhanced Immunity, Superhuman Stamina, Superhuman Strength, Superhuman Speed, Superhuman Agility, Superhuman Reflexes, Super-Breath, Longevity), Tactile Telekinesis (Telekinetic Superhuman Strength, Telekinetic Flight, Telekinetic Force-Field, Telekinetic Force Blasts, Telekinetic Super Hearing)
    • Abilities: Hand-to-Hand Combat (Advanced)

In a scientific experiment called Project Cadmus, following what seemed like Clark Kent’s demise, they created Superboy – a genetic combination of both Superman and Lex Luthor. Initially, the aim was to replace Superman, but it turned out that the original Superman was still alive. Later on, Superboy, who went by Kon-El, forged his own path as a hero and eventually gained acceptance from his older brother figure.

Conner subsequently teamed up with Robin and Impulse to establish Young Justice, and it’s evident that he is the most powerful member of the group because of his Kryptonian genetic makeup. He boasts an exceptional degree of durability, except against Kryptonite or magic, can fly, demonstrates enormous physical strength, and possesses a multitude of other talents. It’s safe to say that no one on Young Justice even approaches his power scale.
