Even before Season 3 came out, the series was already highly praised for its beautifully animated episodes. What makes Solo Leveling different from many other anime based on Korean stories is its smooth, exciting action and how closely it follows the original material. Fans of Seasons 1 and 2 would likely agree that each episode is excellent and truly raises the quality of Solo Leveling.
Solo Leveling Episode 2
- Title: If I Had One More Chance

Episode 2 of Solo Leveling is incredibly gripping, expertly combining suspense, action, and tension. Whether it’s the frightening statues looming over Jinwoo and the other hunters or the mysterious rules of the double dungeon, this episode keeps you on the edge of your seat, genuinely worried about what will happen to the characters.
One of the most chilling moments in the second episode is seeing the Statue of God with a terrifying smile as it torments the hunters trapped in the dungeon. The other statues are equally frightening, causing panic with every move and brutally splitting hunters apart.
Watching Jinwoo figure out how to survive the dungeon is really captivating, especially as he learns its rules and even risks his life for other hunters. This is when we first see his amazing bravery and intelligence, which makes you immediately want to support him.
Solo Leveling Episode 4
- Title: I’ve Gotta Get Stronger
- Season: 1
- Story Arc: Instant Dungeon Arc
Following Jinwoo’s transformation into the only system player, the fourth episode of Solo Leveling quickly throws him into a dangerous new challenge: completing a dungeon all on his own. It was a frightening experience, as Jinwoo had no choice but to push forward.
This episode marks a major change for Jinwoo. For the first time, the previously weak hunter finds the confidence to fight on his own, without needing help from healers or a team.
Previously, even weak goblins could easily capture Jinwoo and hold him for weeks. Now, with his incredible new abilities, he’s finally able to fight back and become more powerful. This episode also marks a turning point as he defeats a major dungeon boss, paving the way for the huge battles that will drive the rest of the story.
Solo Leveling Episode 6
- Title: The Real Hunt Begins

- Story Arc: Dungeon & Lizards Arc
Episode six of Solo Leveling focuses on Jinwoo turning things around. He’s been consistently betrayed and looked down on by other hunters, who always saw him as weak and unimportant, but this episode shows him starting to prove them wrong.
Jinwoo finally stood up for himself and refused to tolerate disrespect, decisively eliminating Hwang Dong-Suk and his followers. He understood that survival sometimes meant having to kill, and he was willing to do what was necessary, even if it meant taking human lives, to ensure his own.
I noticed something really interesting in the sixth episode of Solo Leveling. The introduction of Yoo Jin-Ho wasn’t just a cool addition to the story, it really showed how much Jinwoo has grown. It wasn’t just about becoming a stronger hunter, but about becoming someone people genuinely wanted to follow and trust. Jin-Ho was the first person to actually have his back, even with some doubts, which was a big moment. And it was fun to see a more lighthearted side of Jinwoo during their conversations – it showed he wasn’t always so serious.
Solo Leveling Episode 9
- Title: You’ve Been Hiding Your Skills

The battle between Jinwoo and Kang Tae-Shik in episode 9 of Solo Leveling is considered one of the series’ most exciting fights. Because both fighters share similar techniques, it was captivating to watch them try to gain the upper hand with their speed and reflexes. Their incredibly fast-paced fight is sure to keep viewers engaged and on the edge of their seats.
Song Chi Yul and Lee Joo-Hee’s involvement heightened the tension in the episode, as Jinwoo had to battle Kang Tae-Shik while keeping them safe. This was the first time Jinwoo truly faced a challenge, with Kang Tae-Shik proving to be a powerful and evenly-matched opponent, demonstrating the threat a skilled hunter poses.
Solo Leveling Episode 11
- Title: A Knight Who Defends an Empty Throne

- Story Arc: Job Change Arc
In episode 11 of Solo Leveling, Sung Jinwoo faced a tough test from Blood-Red Commander Igris. Igris, a loyal servant of the previous Shadow Monarch, was sent to evaluate Jinwoo’s skills after he joined the system as a player. Having been a player for a while now, this encounter with Igris was a chance to see how much stronger Jinwoo had become.
Jinwoo actually felt like he might lose for the first time, because Igris was attacking with incredible power and accuracy. This fight was different from any he’d had before – Igris was determined to kill him. Luckily, Igris was willing to fight without his sword, giving Jinwoo a chance.
Solo Leveling Episode 12
- Title: Arise
- Season: 1
- Story Arc: Job Change Arc
The episode, titled Arise, is significant because it’s when Jinwoo first uses his shadow extraction ability. This is a turning point in the story, as it allows him to harness the power of the Shadow Monarch and summon a powerful shadow army.
I was really impressed by how they brought Igris’ shadow to life in this episode – it created such a great sense of anticipation when Jinwoo summoned his first elite shadow. Beyond that, the episode really put Jinwoo through his paces, testing not only his power but also his intelligence. It felt like a fantastic way to wrap up the first season, and honestly, it left me wanting more – I’m excited to see what kind of obstacles and enemies Jinwoo will face in Season 2.

Solo Leveling Episode 14
- Title: I Suppose You Aren’t Aware

Season 2 of Solo Leveling kicks off with a thrilling new challenge for Jinwoo. The story centers around the Red Gate arc, where he faces a powerful enemy and recruits a new shadow soldier. Jinwoo is pushed to his limits while battling Baruka, a strong ice elf, who proves to be a difficult opponent. To overcome Baruka, Jinwoo brings in A-rank hunter Kim Chul as a shadow, giving him the edge he needs.
Meanwhile, a fierce battle is also unfolding outside the Red Gate, sparked by Hwang Dong Soo and Baek Yoon-Ho. If Hwang Dong Soo were to cross paths with Jinwoo, it would surely lead to a dangerous clash between these strong hunters.
Solo Leveling Episode 18
- Title: Don’t Look Down on My Guys

- Story Arc: Hunters Guild Gate Arc
Episode 18 of Solo Leveling delivers an amazing battle between Jinwoo and Kargalgan within an A-rank dungeon. This is the first time Jinwoo uses his shadow army in front of hunters besides his brother, Jin-Ho, and seeing the reaction of the Hunters Guild’s team is really rewarding.
Jinwoo’s battle against Kargalgan was amazing. His shadows moved together flawlessly as he skillfully fought across the battlefield. Everyone watching was stunned as he easily defeated Kargalgan and gained another powerful shadow.
Solo Leveling Episode 24
- Title: Are You the King of Humans?
- Season: 2
- Story Arc: Jeju Island Arc
The last battle of Solo Leveling Season 2 is arguably the most impressive fight in the entire series. The clash between Jinwoo and the Ant King on Jeju Island is visually stunning and incredibly exciting to watch. A-1 Pictures did an amazing job animating each attack with incredible detail, showcasing the immense power and speed of both fighters.
Pausing episode 24 of Solo Leveling reveals a stunning frame, perfectly capturing the fierce battle between Jinwoo and the Ant King. Many fans agree it’s the best episode of Season 2, with incredible action and animation that makes you want to watch it again and again.
Solo Leveling Episode 25
- Title: On to the Next Target
- Season: 2
- Story Arc: Jeju Island Arc
Although episode 25 of Solo Leveling isn’t as intense as the last one, it’s still enjoyable thanks to the introduction of other characters during the Jeju Island raid. We see Liu Zhigang effortlessly destroy a large group of mutated ants with a single attack, and familiar faces like Lee Joo-Hee and Song Chi Yul – who hasn’t been seen since the first season – also make an appearance.
This episode introduces two incredibly powerful new rulers, Sillad and Rakan, who instantly make a strong impression. It also marks the return of the Ant King, now as Jinwoo’s shadow named Beru. And in a bittersweet moment, fans bid farewell to the highly skilled S-rank healer, Min Byung-Gu.
The episode concludes by setting up Season 3 of Solo Leveling, giving us a glimpse of the powerful enemies Jinwoo will face and suggesting even bigger obstacles are coming. Jinwoo will have to defeat opponents like Hwang Dong-Soo, and the Monarchs Sillad and Rakan, who are far stronger than anyone he’s battled so far, if he wants to become the world’s strongest.
