In the widely played online trading card game Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel by Konami, a significant alteration is being introduced in the process of creating cards following a banlist update. This adjustment aims to close a loophole using the dismantling system, thus providing fair play for all players. The game offers multiple methods for obtaining cards, including free rewards and packs. In Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel, there are various Solo Mode challenges that grant exclusive cards for specific archetypes, while Selection Packs usually contain the latest cards added to the game. In Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel, they maintain balance by frequently modifying the banlist. Konami usually rolls out a fresh banlist update for Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel at the beginning of each month to counteract overpowering decks. Last week, Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel officially revealed an upcoming adjustment in its crafting system. Starting from the announcement of the next banlist update, Konami will no longer award players with the full 30 Crafting Points when dismantling newly generated cards. However, if a player has multiple copies of a card, they will prioritize cards eligible for the “Dismantle Bonus.” This means that players can still dismantle their old versions of cards that have been banned. These changes will be implemented on July 25. In simpler terms, from the next banlist update, you won’t get as many points for dismantling new cards in Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel, but you can still dismantle older versions of cards that have been banned, if you have multiples.

  • Cards newly eligible for the Dismantle Bonus generated after the Forbidden/Limited Update notice is released will not be eligible for the Dismantle Bonus.
  • When dismantling cards, if a player has both cards eligible for the Dismantle Bonus, and cards ineligible for the Dismantle Bonus, the cards eligible for the Dismantle Bonus will be dismantled first.
  • Cards obtained from Packs following the Forbidden/Limited List Update notice are not eligible for the Dismantle Bonus.

It appears that the recent rule change concerning the dismantling process may be intended to address an advantageous tactic that players have discovered within this system. Prior to this adjustment, players could produce numerous replicas of a just-banned card and then break down these cards for their full worth rather than the regular 10 Crafting Points.
