Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom - Rain-Making Monster Quest Guide

As a seasoned adventurer with countless hours spent exploring Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, I must say that the Rain-Making Monster quest is a delightful detour from the usual dungeon-crawling.

Once you’ve conquered the initial four dungeons within “The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom”, quests set in Faron Wetlands begin to unfold. You can reach Faron Wetlands by either using your echoes to clear a waterfall located south of Lake Hylia, or by traversing the treetops to the west before moving eastward. The main village in this zone, Scrubton, is situated towards its eastern edge.

In this game, players can take on the task of retrieving the Rain-Generating Creature. This mission instructs Zelda to find and bring back the creature to its sender. Luckily, the location of the Rain-Generating Creature is near Scrubton. However, you might have encountered the necessary Echo needed to finish this quest during your journey into the zone already.

The Rain-Making Monster mission becomes available for you once you complete the Hyrule Castle dungeon, with no additional requirements. However, if you venture into the Faron Wetlands prior to finishing Hyrule Castle, Deku Scrubs will have special dialogues but won’t offer quests yet.

Search for the Deku Scrub located on the west side of Scrubton, specifically in the upper-right corner of the Faron Wetlands zone, to find this quest. The Deku Scrub can be spotted standing on a raised wooden platform above two other scrubs who are embarking on their individual Echoes of Wisdom side quests.

The text implies that it heard a sound similar to what one might expect from a rain-creating beast, prior to the last downpour. Subsequently, Zelda is assigned the mission of locating a “rain-bringing creature” within the Faron Swamps.

In this specific instance, the Scrub ought to be positioned atop a timber stage alone, showcasing a speech balloon and a prominent red exclamation mark, signifying that a side mission can be undertaken here.

If you’ve previously explored the Faron Wetlands before arriving at Scrubton, chances are you’ve already encountered the monster Echo needed for this quest – the Drippitune. This blue frog is commonly found throughout the Faron Wetlands. You can tell one is nearby when it’s raining and you hear a croaking noise similar to a frog.

The closest Drippitune to Scrubton is just to the west. Head southwest from the village, then loop northwest to find a Drippitune on a small ledge calling rain almost directly west of the quest start point. Defeat the Drippitune to learn its Echo, then head back to the Deku Scrub in Scrubton.

To finish off the Rain-Making Monster task, call forth the Drippitune directly near the Deku Scrub. A scene will unfold, and you’ll wrap up the mission successfully.

Reward For Completing The Rain-Making Monster Quest

As I ventured through the mystical land of Hyrule, I stumbled upon a quest to locate the elusive Rain-Making Monster and return it to Scrubton. In exchange for my efforts, Zelda promised eight Electro Apples as a reward. These vibrant fruits are essential Smoothie Ingredients that grant Electricity Proof – a powerful shield that safeguards me from any Electricity damage when I concoct a drink using them.

Store these Electro Apples until you delve deeper into the Faron Wetlands region and beyond, as the Lightning Resistance provided by certain Smoothie recipes can be quite beneficial against Electric-type foes like the recurring boss Smog in the “Let’s Play A Game” quest, or the colossal electric Jellyfish in the “Zappy Shipwreck” quest.
