To obtain a horse within the game “Echoes of Wisdom”, you need to finish the side mission called “Runaway Horse”. This is where Zelda first acquires a horse in the game. Later on, Zelda can secure a unique horse for herself, but that requires advancing beyond the main quest “Still Missing” and completing “Impa’s Gift”. Visit Hyrule Ranch:

Zelda can leap straight to the pond, but you’ll need to prepare a resting place for the horse to cross safely.
After leaving the pond, head towards Hyrule Ranch. Upon your return, the old man there will undoubtedly be delighted to see the safe return of the horse, and he’ll grant you permission to choose any horse from his stable. From now on, these horses can be considered as ‘rental horses.’ This is significant because it means that Zelda won’t be able to summon the horse if we get separated. For now, the rental horse will appear on your map as an icon representing a horse.
Be certain to set the quick-travel point at the ranch, this way you can easily come back if you happen to misplace your horse and it’s not showing up on your map.
