As a seasoned Zelda fan who’s navigated through countless Hyrule adventures, I must admit, I’ve never been more captivated than now! The latest creation by kmarkow, the “Juggerduck,” is nothing short of a marvel in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. This mechanical duck boat, armed with lasers no less, is a testament to the ingenuity and creativity that this game has sparked in its community.

Whilst enjoying ‘The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’, a player constructed an automated duck as a watercraft, complete with defense lasers attached. This latest invention showcases the ingenuity of ‘Tears of the Kingdom’ gamers, and the community has praised this innovative creation.

In the wake of the tremendously successful precursor, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, it was widely anticipated that its sequel, Tears of the Kingdom, would be well-received. What might have caught some off guard, though, is the key factor behind this success – the innovative building mechanics. Although Breath of the Wild redefined the Zelda franchise with a vast open world to traverse, its follow-up, Tears of the Kingdom, took things a step further by bestowing Link with new capabilities, such as Ultrahand, which empowers players to connect various items and create functional machinery.

More recently, a player by the name of kmarkow unveiled an inventive construction within the game Tears of the Kingdom: a mechanical duck, affectionately dubbed the “Juggerduck” by a Reddit user. This noteworthy creation doubled as a boat and bore a resemblance to a duck. The eye-catching details included in this build were the eyes, crafted from Construct Heads and Beam Emitters, which transformed the duck boat into a formidable weapon, aside from being a convenient mode of transport throughout Hyrule. The creator even managed to fashion a golden-hued beak for the vessel, resembling that of a bird.

It’s no surprise that the new creation has garnered interest from members of the Hyrule Engineering subreddit. Some comments highlighted the Construct Head laser eyes, while others appreciated the title’s nod to the Terminator series. Notably, a few users were impressed that the boat could navigate on land, which was made possible by Big Wheels, one of the Zonai Devices in Tears of the Kingdom, strategically placed under the mechanical duck, as mentioned by kmarkow.

Creating machines based on animals has been a popular challenge in the Tears of the Kingdom community. Over the past few months, kmarkow has built a variety of other impressive contraptions inspired by real-world wildlife. Some examples include a mosquito that could fly and a rabbit that could hop.

Regarding The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, scheduled for release in September 2024, the influence of Tears of the Kingdom is far from waning. In fact, with players still exploring its sophisticated physics and construction mechanics, it’s expected that even more intricate builds will emerge. It’s yet to be determined whether these future creations will draw inspiration from aquatic creatures like ducks.
