This post contains spoilers for One Piece.
Summary
- Holy Knights kidnap Elbaf children to enslave Giants – despicable act.
- Zoro and Sanji to join forces against Sommers – biggest challenge yet.
- Luffy likely to fight Killingham in Elbaf – potential for gear 5th improvement.
In Chapter 1147, we learned that the Holy Knights aimed to abduct Elbaf’s children for a nefarious purpose: to force the Giants into servitude by using the kids as leverage. Given their association with an odious institution, it comes as little surprise that they would resort to such heinous actions.
Observing here, it seems a multitude of characters are gearing up for a confrontation with the Holy Knights. The last scene of Chapter 1147 showcases Robin and Gaban readying themselves for battle, yet it’s quite clear they could benefit from some reinforcements. Enter our dynamic duo, Zoro and Sanji, who are poised to join the fray.
Zoro And Sanji Will Finally Fight Together

In a potentially dangerous circumstance, Zoro and Sanji might set aside their animosity, understanding it’s not the time for their minor disputes. This pairing has shown they can put aside differences when necessary, and such an instance could occur in Chapter 1148 of One Piece. In Chapter 1147, viewers witnessed Nico Robin preparing to fight, spurred by Sommers’ brutal attack on Saul, a significant figure in her life. Unable to remain hidden any longer, she was compelled to act.
I won’t let them do it. —Nico Robin
Nico Robin is a skilled combatant, yet she lacks the strength needed to defeat someone of Sommers’ caliber, who ranks as an Admiral or higher. Consequently, even with an upgrade, Robin stands no chance against Sommers. When Sommers asserts control, he may intend to harm or eliminate Robin. At this point, Zoro and Sanji are likely to step in, aiming to shield their fellow crew member from any danger.
Zoro And Sanji Will Fight Sommers
The Duo Will Have To Be Careful As Sommers Is Dangerous
- Sanji and Zoro face a big test
- The pirates must save Nico Robin and the children
It seems that Gunko may find herself quite busy with Scopper Gaban, as he’s more than equipped to handle her. Therefore, it appears that Zoro and Sanji might not need to step in during his fight. Conversely, the battle between Zoro and Sanji against Sommers is expected to be their toughest fight yet, so they should stay alert and ready.
The battle will challenge Zoro’s Observational Skill Haki and Sanji’s Weapon Skill Haki. Since Summers can generate unseen vines, avoiding them without a sufficient level of Observational Skill might as well be impossible. As for Sanji, he needs to enhance his Weapon Skill if he hopes to overpower the vines and shield himself from their potential harm.
It seems unlikely that Sanji and Zoro will quickly overcome their individual weaknesses, so it’s crucial for them to support each other. Given Sanji’s exceptional Observation Haki in One Piece, he can assist Zoro. In contrast, Zoro’s remarkable Armament Haki allows him to bypass even the strongest defenses. To emerge victorious against Shepherd Sommers and aid the people of Elbaf, they must work together rather than fighting alone.
Who Will Be Luffy’s Opponent In Elbaf?

If Zoro and Sanji pursue Sommers, it’s probable that Luffy will engage in a fight with Killingham, who is generally considered the strongest among the three Holy Knights. Killingham holds the Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Kirin, a Mythical Zoan-type Devil Fruit, enabling him to transform into a qilin whenever he wishes. An intriguing aspect of this confrontation is that both Luffy and Killingham wield Mythical Zoan-type Devil Fruits, and they have both Awakened their powers as well. Some might suggest that Killingham has a greater command over his Devil Fruit Awakening because he hasn’t yet returned to his normal form.
Engaging with Killingham could potentially enhance Luffy’s mastery over Gear 5th. Yet, he needs to exercise caution as Killingham wields potent abilities. This adversary has the power to induce sleep in others and manifest their dreams through his Devil Fruit. Moreover, his fruit grants him enhanced physical capabilities, making it a challenging opponent to defeat. Luffy’s most effective strategy would likely be Advanced Conqueror’s Hiki, which boosts his offensive power and enables him to surpass all defensive mechanisms. Keep in mind that these scenarios are speculative at this stage, but there’s a strong possibility that both battles will unfold in the forthcoming chapters.
