This article contains spoilers from One Piece’s Elbaf Arc.
Summary
- Zoro is headed to the underworld in Elbaf to face Loki soon.
- Zoro’s big battle in Elbaf will be against Saint Sommers.
- Zoro’s fight with Saint Sommers may prepare him to face Dracule Mihawk.
In the grand saga of “One Piece,” the Elbaf arc stands out as an enormously extensive storyline. A quick glance at its early instalments reveals similarities with arcs such as Dressrosa and Wano, rather than smaller ones like Zou. Fights are typically associated with arcs of this magnitude, and fans eagerly anticipate the challenges that the Straw Hat Pirates will encounter in the realm of the Giants.
In discussions about fights in the series One Piece, there’s always excitement when talking about a particular character who fans can’t wait to see in action – none other than Roronoa Zoro, both the swordsman of the crew and its second member. It’s safe to say that Elbaf will be a significant event for the Straw Hat Pirates, promising intense battles, especially considering the gradual unveiling of their enemies. As for Zoro, his upcoming opponent might have been hinted at by Oda, and he is indeed an intriguing adversary to look forward to.
Zoro To Face The Wrath Of Loki
- Zoro Is In The Underworld
- Oda Will Hype Up Loki Soon
So far, Zoro hasn’t experienced any significant fight or even a challenging skirmish with a powerful adversary within Elbaf. However, that’s all about to change as Zoro and Luffy are on their journey towards Elbaf’s Underworld. They’ve managed to acquire the key to free Loki from his chains, and with this decision, it seems inevitable that Loki will be freed once more. Loki has been held captive for approximately six years now, which suggests that his time has come. Known as a world-destroyer and someone who only Shanks could previously contain, Loki is undeniably dangerous.
I’m the Sun God who will destroy this world! — Loki
At this point, readers are eagerly anticipating Loki’s battle, and it won’t be long until he demonstrates his full power. It should be pointed out that Loki isn’t solely a villain. Despite his history of peculiar actions and causing widespread chaos, Loki is essentially striving to embody Nika, who can be either the God of Freedom or the God of Ruin. In Loki’s eyes, he aims to bring about global destruction, but readers know he has a tender side. Nevertheless, Loki will engage in combat with the Straw Hat Pirates, at least in a scuffle. This is crucial for the storyline as Oda intends to highlight Loki’s strength, which inevitably means Zoro will soon cross swords with Loki.
When Luffy and Zoro rescue Loki, it’s highly probable that he will either attack them or issue a challenge for a battle. In this confrontation, Luffy is likely to face Loki directly, while Zoro will likely assume a supporting role. Given the magnitude of Loki’s power as portrayed by Oda, it seems unlikely that Zoro can match him in a fight. However, Zoro won’t shy away from the challenge and will undoubtedly make his presence felt. This encounter with Loki is not expected to be Zoro’s defining battle in Elbaf, but it will mark a significant step forward for him. This fight could provide Zoro valuable insights into Loki’s abilities and what he needs to achieve to reach the pinnacle of strength. Unfortunately, Zoro might sustain some heavy blows during this fight, which could further enhance Loki’s image as a formidable opponent.
Zoro’s Big Elbaf Opponent — Saint Sommers Of House Shepherd
Saint Sommers Vs Zoro Will Be The Bigger Fight

In their upcoming encounter, Zoro will indeed experience an exhilarating fight with Loki, yet this battle won’t be his most significant one. This is because Zoro will initially play a secondary role in the initial skirmish, but as time progresses, he won’t be sidelined anymore.
According to Oda’s setup, it appears that the primary antagonists during this arc will be the Holy Knights, implying that Gunko, Killingham, and Sommers will play significant roles. Shamrock might also join the fray, but if he returns to Marijoa as planned, he won’t engage in any battles within Elbaf.
Then, I shall become the King of Hell! — Zoro
In the battles against Elbaf’s foes, Zoro seems destined to face off against Sommers. This formidable newcomer, Saint Sommers, has already made his mark, displaying an undeniable strength.
Being part of the esteemed Holy Knights, fighting alongside veterans like Shamrock, one can expect Sommers to exhibit considerable strength. Already, fans have a good sense of Sommers’ potential prowess.

Firstly, it appears that Shamrock is more powerful than Loki. Furthermore, Shamrock suggested that Gunko could wound Loki in combat even while he was restrained. This suggests that Gunko matches the strength of the One Piece world’s Admirals at a minimum. If Sommers is on par with Gunko in power, then Zoro will face an opponent comparable to an Admiral, which would make Sommers his toughest foe thus far, excluding Dracule Mihawk. Sommers also wields a sword and likely possesses a highly potent Devil Fruit. This implies that the confrontation between Zoro and Saint Sommers could be an epic battle, unlike any other fought by Zoro as part of the Straw Hat Pirates.
Will Zoro Be Ready For Mihawk After Saint Sommers?
Zoro Should Be Admiral Level After The Fight
Currently, Zoro isn’t as powerful as an Admiral, a fact that can’t be denied despite some fans attempting to alter the storyline. However, this doesn’t rule out the possibility of Zoro reaching that level someday. He is, after all, the one destined to defeat Mihawk, which implies he needs to grow stronger. If Sommers is indeed on par with the Admirals in the One Piece world, then post-Elbaf, Zoro should be entitled to a bounty valued around 3 billion berries, whether or not he actually receives that reward.
With Mihawk boasting a staggering bounty of 3.590 billion Berries, it’s clear that my journey is leading me towards his level! This milestone not only places me on par with the legendary swordsman, but also prepares me for the ultimate showdown against Dracule Mihawk in the Final Saga. The anticipation is electrifying!
