As a seasoned gamer with years of experience under my belt, I must say that the upcoming Zotac Gaming Zone has caught my eye. With its impressive specs, innovative design, and competitive pricing, it’s clear that Zotac is aiming to make a big splash in the handheld gaming market.
Zotac Gaming, a recently entered hardware manufacturer, has stepped into the portable gaming market. It’s now possible to pre-order the ‘Zotac Gaming Zone’, which was first shown at Computex 2024 in June. At this event, they announced their plans to join the expanding competition in the handheld gaming sector.
In simpler terms, the Zotac Gaming Zone is set to enter the competition against devices such as the ROG Ally, Lenovo Legion Go, Steam Deck, and MSI Claw.
Next Generation
The Zotac Gaming Zone is a strong competitor within the current market dominants. It showcases an AMD Ryzen 7 8840U equipped with RDNA 3 graphics and Zen 4 architecture, promising top-tier gaming performance. However, it’s important to note that its 16 GB of LPDDR5X-7500 RAM is only half the capacity compared to the ROG Ally X launched recently.
The Zotac Gaming Zone, right off the bat, boasts a top-tier AMOLED display for handhelds. This screen is currently leading the pack in terms of quality. It’s designed to deliver a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and can reach an impressive brightness of 800nits, outshining both the ROG Ally X and the latest MSI Claw.
The 512 GB NVMe SSD might limit it somewhat, but it offers an upgrade option through its UHS-II microSD card reader.
The Zotac Gaming Zone truly excels in its construction quality and control system. It showcases some unique advancements that will undoubtedly set it apart from other products in the market.
- Drift-resistant analog sticks
- Hall-effect triggers with two-stage adjustment
- Radial dials around the sticks for on-the-fly tweaking
- Dual trackpads (like the Steam Deck)
- Dual USB ports rated for rapid charging
- Front-facing camera and onboard microphone
All that and it also has a touch of RGB to really impress the gamer in you.
The price of the Zotac Gaming Zone hasn’t been officially disclosed yet, but it’s speculated to be priced around $800. We’re looking forward to testing it out ourselves at Gamescom, which takes place later this week.
