Nevertheless, among numerous beat-em-ups, Sifu was a distinctive one that captivated me profoundly. It’s a timeless story of revenge blended with roguelike gameplay elements and rigorous, challenging combat.
The game demands careful consideration for every engagement, whether it’s against common foes or powerful ones. It encourages mastering new techniques, playing strategically, and seizing opportune moments to strike decisively.
The experience is reminiscent of a Souls series game in numerous aspects, yet it stands out due to its swift, intense battles and an intriguing mechanic: becoming more powerful after death instead of seeing it as a setback.
I’ve never experienced a game that made me feel as if I was truly a kung-fu master, and I doubt any other game can match its brilliance in the future.

Although the writing might resemble a top-notch high school creative writing piece at times, the game compensates for this by offering exceptional level design, a treasure trove of unforgettable moments, and smooth multiplayer action that is rarely found in today’s games.
While Split Fusion might be reigning supreme as the pinnacle of modern cooperative gaming, It Takes Two stands out on its own merit. If you find a partner who’s game for the adventure, this is a title you shouldn’t hesitate to jump into right away.
