10 Years of XRP Ledger: Ripple President Highlights Milestones, Future Buzz

As a researcher who has closely followed the evolution of blockchain technology, I must admit that witnessing Ripple celebrate a decade of operations on the XRP Ledger was truly awe-inspiring. The XRP Community Day event was a testament to the resilience and innovation within the crypto community, especially in Japan where the XRP community has been thriving since its early days.

As a researcher, I’m thrilled to have been part of the recent milestone achieved by Ripple – the successful construction on the XRP Ledger. This significant moment was commemorated during a pivotal XRP event, marking a full decade of uninterrupted operations for this groundbreaking platform.

During the current XRP Community Day gathering, Monica Long (President of Ripple), Brad Garlinghouse (CEO of Ripple) and Eric van Miltenburg (SVP Strategic Initiatives at Ripple) stepped onto the stage to recount tales from the early days of the XRPL, highlight recent achievements on the XRPL, and express enthusiasm for future developments.

The official Twitter account for RippleX’s X handle, known for providing real-time updates from events, disseminated this data.

As reported by Ripple X, the leaders from Ripple emphasized significant achievements throughout XRPL’s development that have shaped its growth, such as built-in decentralized finance (DeFi) functionalities and exciting advancements on the horizon which will influence the upcoming story of this ledger.

Among the pioneering concepts brought up was the application of user-issued assets within the XRPL system. This functionality enables users to mint tokens and currencies on the XRP Ledger (XRPL), thereby enabling different forms of value to be represented on the ledger, not just XRP. As a result, the XRPL became one of the initial blockchain platforms to facilitate the tokenization of diverse assets.

Ripple speaks

During the XRP Community Day on September 6th, located in Shinagawa, Tokyo, Ripple’s Chief Executive Officer, Brad Garlinghouse, commended the vibrant XRP community within Japan.

In a recent gathering, the Ripple CEO expressed his gratitude by acknowledging that the Japanese XRP community is one of the most significant and longest-standing globally. He emphasized that the spirit of The Ledger (Ripple) would be incomplete without their contributions.

At a significant gathering of the XRP community, Ripple’s Chief Technology Officer, David Schwartz (a key figure in designing the XRP Ledger), addressed the crowd, delving into the essential components for developing decentralized finance (DeFi) solutions for institutions on the XRP Public Ledger. Topics ranged from distinctive functions offered by the XRPL Automated Market Maker, seamless integration with other systems, a robust lending mechanism, customizable features, decentralized identifiers, data oracles for real-world information, and versatile tokens.
