237.8 Billion SHIB Grabbed by New Whale After Major Shiba Inu Development

Based on information from Etherscan, approximately 24 hours ago, a newly created cryptocurrency wallet bought a large quantity of SHIB meme coins, amounting to several hundred billion tokens.

Whale grabs 237.8 billion SHIB

An anonymous wallet carried out the transaction, which could signify either an over-the-counter (OTC) deal or a large crypto investor dispersing their holdings among various smaller blockchain accounts.

Approximately 237 billion SHIB tokens (worth around $6.3 million) were moved to that mentioned wallet in sum.

After the SHIB team revealed they had secured $12 million in investments for creating a layer-3 solution on Shibarium, the purchase occurred. Additionally, the SHIB leader has since explained the reason behind his frequent international trips.

Shytoshi Kusama explains his recent mysterious travels

Recently on Twitter, Shytoshi Kusama, the leader of the SHIB project, explained in a new tweet why he had frequently updated his location on the platform during the first part of the year.

He has visited Japan, Hong Kong, Puerto Rico, New York in the United States, as well as Dubai and the Maldives. The Shiba Inu community tracked down these travel destinations on Kusama’s official Twitter account, wondering about the reason behind the frequent moves.

Currently, Shytoshi revealed his intention during his journeys was to gather financial resources for constructing a layer-3 blockchain. Notably, Shibarium, which is a layer-2 solution on Ethereum, will serve as the foundation for this upcoming new blockchain.

I had to move around while presenting my ideas to the industry’s brightest minds, and now you understand why. Today marks an important milestone for SHIB as we delve into encryption and upgrade our identity. The excitement level among us is at an all-time high! I have rarely been this thrilled about #SHIB.— Shytoshi Kusama™ (@ShytoshiKusama) April 23, 2024

In her latest tweet, SHIB‘s marketing head, Lucie, described how a layer-3 solution could advantage the SHIB community. She analogized that integrating an L3 on top of an L2 is equivalent to “giving fast-paced transactions a protective cloak of invisibility.”

At layer 3, enhancements bring better privacy and security (consider it as an extra protective layer, as Lucie explains), faster and affordable transactions, enabling regulatory checks on private deals, among other advantages. The long-awaited TREAT token, which is yet to be launched, will serve the same function on the upcoming blockchain in facilitating transactions, much like BONE performs within Shibarium now.
