8 New Characters That Will Outclass Jinwoo In Solo Leveling Season 3

Solo Leveling is a fantastic anime known for its action-packed battles. Throughout the first two seasons, the main character, Sung Jinwoo, has become incredibly powerful, defeating strong opponents like Igris and the Ant King. However, Season 3 promises even tougher challenges, introducing characters who could surpass Jinwoo’s current level of strength—now at level 100. We’ve already met some of these new characters, and others will be making their debut in the upcoming season, thrilling fans with their power.

The Architect

Season 3 of Solo Leveling promises to be even more exciting than the last, and a major highlight will be the return of a powerful enemy. Sung Jinwoo’s first big challenge will be against a character known as The Architect, who is later revealed to be named Kandiaru. This formidable opponent draws Sung Jinwoo back to the Double Dungeon, the place where his journey began.

Inside the Double Dungeon, the Architect is trying to defeat Jinwoo, and he has the power to do so because he controls the system. He’s even capable of taking away Jinwoo’s abilities, like his Shadow Army. Without Ashborn’s betrayal, Jinwoo would have likely lost during that storyline. This character promises to reveal important secrets about the Solo Leveling world and provide thrilling battles.

Ashborn

Ashborn is a fascinating character in Solo Leveling who hasn’t appeared in the anime yet. Before Jinwoo, he was known as the Shadow Monarch and is incredibly powerful. He’s an ancient being with a long history of fighting in significant battles.

The next season of Solo Leveling will likely show the Architect trying to manipulate Jinwoo into becoming a new host for Ashborn. Although they won’t clash directly yet, Jinwoo is already significantly more powerful. In fact, Jinwoo’s survival and ultimate strength are thanks to Ashborn gifting him the Black Heart. Without it, he wouldn’t have been able to reach his full potential and would have perished in the Double Dungeon, ending the story prematurely.

Sung II-Hwan

Sung II-Hwan is a powerful character introduced in the Solo Leveling anime. He’s Jinwoo’s father, who disappeared years prior. The anime has already shown a glimpse of his incredible strength – he effortlessly defeated Hwang Dongsoo, an S-Rank Hunter. This suggests Sung II-Hwan is at least as strong as a nationally-ranked Hunter.

I’m really curious to see how much of the story Season 3 will adapt, but if they get to the Monarch War, we’re in for a treat. That’s where Jinwoo’s father really gets to shine and show off just how powerful he is. Even though Jinwoo is already incredibly strong, his father is on a whole other level, and I expect the show will make that clear next season. I think his father will be a fascinating character to watch, and his powers should be a huge hit with fans worldwide.

Thomas Andre

Thomas Andre is a remarkably powerful Hunter in the world of Solo Leveling, considered the best in both the USA and globally. He’s one of the few Hunters at the National level and has already appeared briefly in the anime, generating a lot of excitement among fans. Although Sung Jinwoo will eventually become stronger, Thomas is currently more powerful. He’s incredibly strong because he’s possessed by a Ruler and has a unique, visually impressive ability called Spiritual Body Manifestation, which viewers will soon see in the anime.

Liu Zhigang

Fans were first introduced to Liu Zhigang near the end of Solo Leveling Season 2, and the brief glimpse of him has created a lot of anticipation for his role in Season 3. He appears to be an incredibly powerful character.

Liu Zhigang was once considered one of the most powerful Hunters globally, ranking just below Thomas Andre. He’s the only officially recognized Chinese Hunter at the national level, and for a long time, he was the strongest in Asia. Despite not having a significant on-screen battle, Liu Zhigang is clearly stronger than Jinwoo before Jinwoo gains the Black Heart and fully awakens his powers. Currently, he surpasses all Korean Hunters in strength.

Sillad

Sillad is expected to be a key villain in the next season of Solo Leveling. He’s predicted to cause significant problems during the Monarchs War storyline, if that arc is included. Of the three Monarchs challenging Jinwoo – Rakan, Querehsha, and Sillad – he is widely considered the most powerful.

Known as the Monarch of Frost, Sillad will be a major obstacle for Jinwoo in the future. He’s expected to be Jinwoo’s toughest challenge yet, and Jinwoo likely won’t be able to defeat him until after his reawakening and with help from his father, probably towards the end of Solo Leveling Season 3.

Kamish

Kamish is a fascinating character in Solo Leveling who may be the most powerful S-Rank Gate Boss, even surpassing the Ant King. While he doesn’t appear alive in the present storyline, flashbacks and Jinwoo’s attempt to create a shadow from him allow us to see Kamish in Season 3 of Solo Leveling.

He was incredibly powerful, requiring four top-tier Hunters – Thomas Andre, Liu Zhigang, Christopher Reed, and Siddharth Bachchan – to defeat him. This highlights just how strong he was. Hunters like Kamish were capable of easily beating the Ant King and, for a time, even Sung Jinwoo.

Antares

The third season of Solo Leveling might introduce Antares, who is believed to be the oldest and most powerful Monarch. He’s incredibly strong—even at the end of Season 3, he’s expected to be more powerful than the main character, Jinwoo, and currently holds the title of strongest being in the series’ world.

Antares is currently the most powerful being in Solo Leveling, far surpassing even Jinwoo. Unfortunately, a battle between them seems a long way off.
