Today, the prices of the leading cryptocurrencies took a step back. Bitcoin (BTC) dipped below $63,000, while Ethereum (ETH) approached the $3,000 threshold. On the other hand, major altcoins like Cardano (ADA), Solana (SOL), and XRP suffered significant declines.

The cost of Bitcoin decreased by 3.95 percent and stood at $62,375.46 on Tuesday, April 16, as I pen this down. Conversely, its trading volume experienced a significant boost of 4.90 percent, amounting to $45 billion over the past 24 hours. Bitcoin maintained a market capitalization of a substantial $1.22 trillion during this period.

In the world of altcoins, the Ethereum cost dropped 3.44% to $3,033.71 at the moment of press, equating to a market value of approximately $364.29 billion. At the same time, Ethereum’s trading volume surged by 2.92%, amounting to $22.78 billion. Conversely, Binance Coin (BNB) plunged 4.69% to $538.63, but its trading volume grew by a notable 3.12%, totaling $1.51 billion in the past 24 hours.

Today, Solana’s price dropped by 10.82%, landing at $132.46. The value of Solana decreased significantly, and its trading volume saw a 6.48% decrease to $5.72 billion in the last 24 hours. In contrast, XRP‘s price fell by 3% to $0.4848, but its trading volume rose by 3.90% to $2.43 billion.

At present, the cost of Cardano rose by 1.75%, amounting to $0.4716. Simultaneously, its trading volume dropped by 35.95%, reaching a total of $835.75 million. As the leading cryptocurrencies bounced back from losses, the meme coins followed suit. The Dogecoin price soared by 2.37% to hit $0.161, while Shiba Inu experienced a growth of 1.42%, trading at $0.00002265.

Contrastingly, PEPE’s trading volume over the last 24 hours dropped by nearly 38% and amounted to $935.76 million.

Core, a project on the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) that is EVM-compatible, experienced an impressive surge of over 62% and became the top cryptocurrency gainer today. The price of Core reached $2.35, marking a 62.29% increase. Additionally, its trading volume saw a massive jump of 326.46%, reaching $699.24 million during this period. At the peak of the rally, Core reached a high of $2.83.
