Uncover the Shocking Truth Behind Imperial Corruption in Oblivion Remastered!

In the grand world of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered, I stumbled upon an intriguing side quest named ‘Imperial Corruption’. This mission revolves around a crooked Watch Captain in the Imperial City who shamelessly extorts gold and valuables from innocent citizens to fuel his insatiable greed.

Upon learning of this injustice, the Hero is assigned to uncover the true identity of the Watch Captain and bring the information to the superior officers of the Imperial Watch, aiming to hold him accountable for his wrongdoings.

How to Start Imperial Corruption in Oblivion Remastered

As a fervent admirer, I’d love to engage in conversation with either Luronk gro-Glurzog or Ruslan within the Temple District of the Imperial City. You can usually find Luronk at his residence, nestled on the eastern edge, or wandering about the city itself. Similarly, Ruslan can often be spotted roaming around the same district.

Luronk and Ruslan will share details with you about a dishonest watchman who extorted money from them at Jensine’s “Second Chance Goods”, a store located within the Market District of the Imperial City.

Imperial Corruption Walkthrough (Step-by-Step)

Speak with Jensine at her store in the Market District regarding the corrupt watchman. She’ll be hesitant to reveal his identity due to fear of reprisal. To persuade Jensine to disclose the watchman’s identity, boost her trust level (Disposition) to 70 or higher. Once you’ve done that, approach her once more about the dishonest Imperial watchman. At this point, she’ll confide that Watch Captain Audens Avidius is the one who robbed Luronk gro-Glurzog and Ruslan, and he also pilfers goods from her store whenever he pleases.

You can increase her inclination through engaging in a short persuasive game, offering her gold as an incentive, boosting your reputation, or casting a Charm spell.

When you chat with any guard patrolling the Imperial City streets, they will guide you to bring your issue to either Guard Captain Hieronymus Lex or Guard Captain Servatius Quintilius, based on whether you’ve finished the Thieves Guild questline or not.

No matter what happens, stick to the mission indicator and chat with the correct Watch Captain concerning Audens Avidius. Both of them might be occupied, leading you to converse with a different Watch Captain, specifically Itius Hayn.

Go with the guide to locate Itius Hayn, and inquire about the arrest of Audens Avidius. He may be reluctant to discuss allegations of corruption from someone unknown. Increase Itius Hayn’s trust level to 70 or higher before approaching him again on this matter. You will then learn that he requires at least two eyewitness accounts in order to apprehend another Watch Captain like Audens.

Head back to the Temple District, locate Luronk gro-Glurzog and Ruslan. Increase the affinity levels of both characters to 70 or more, and then discuss with them the matter of testifying against Audens. They should consent to this action.

Despite the arrow indicating her as a potential witness, Jensine remains reluctant to testify against Audens.

Wait for 24 hours within the game, then a quest notification will appear, signaling that Audens Avidius has been apprehended and imprisoned. The Imperial Corruption quest will be concluded at this point. However, the storyline isn’t over just yet. After another 10 days in-game have passed, you’ll find yourself under attack by Audens Avidius, dressed as a convict. Defeating him will reward you with +1 Fame Point, and the issue will be resolved once and for all.

Audens will only ambush characters who are level 5 or above.
