Kraken’s ambitious expansion

Thursdays saw the confirmation of TradeStation Crypto’s acquisition by the exchange, a move intended to boost the company’s influence in the US market. TradeStation holds various regulatory approvals within the United States.

The cryptocurrency exchange is making efforts to increase its influence in the EU. In October, they revealed plans to buy out BCM, a well-known Dutch cryptocurrency broker based in the Netherlands.

In 2019, Kraken acquired the U.K. derivatives firm Crypto Facilities. Since last October, the company has been developing new offerings to take advantage of the gap in the market created by the collapse of FTX exchange.

This week, Kraken made available for the public a free software version of their cryptocurrency wallet named “Kraken Wallet.” It is compatible with various blockchain networks such as Dogecoin, Binance Smart Chain (Base), Ethereum, and Solana.

Kraken now offers a wallet service, similar toBinance, Coinbase and others major crypto exchanges. The uniqueness of Kraken’s wallet lies in its open-source coding.
