Recently, Lucie, the marketing head of Shiba Inu, shared insights into the project’s future direction through a post on X. Here’s an overview of some major initiatives she highlighted for expanding and enhancing Shibarium’s reach over the next two years:
#1 ShibaSwap (version 1.75 followed by 2.0)
ShibaSwap, the decentralized exchange (DEX) linked to the Shiba Inu community, is preparing for major improvements with the arrival of versions 1.75 and 2.0. These updates are anticipated to bring advanced trading capabilities, opportunities for liquidity provision, and transform ShibaSwap into a comprehensive portal. Users will be able to monitor news, charts, and data through this platform.
The upcoming update 1.75 of SHIB is expected to be a precursor to bigger changes in version 2.0. Shytoshi Kusama, the lead developer of SHIB, hinted through the official Telegram channel, “Soon. We’ll start with 1.75.” Regarding ShibaSwap 2.0, he mentioned, “That’s when things will get exciting. But first, we need to make friends.”
#2 Shiba Hub
The Shiba Hub is expected to be a central point in the Shiba Inu ecosystem, bringing together different services and functions. While we don’t have all the information yet, it’s believed that this platform will provide a community space with forums, educational resources, and direct access to other Shiba Inu projects like SHIB: The Metaverse.

#3 TREAT Token
Introducing the new TREAT token brings a major improvement to the Shiba Inu world. This token has multiple roles: it motivates users to stake and join liquidity pools with rewards, and also functions as a governance and transaction fee token on Shibarium’s upcoming Layer 3 platform.
In simpler terms, having this important function means TREAT can help handle deals and communications between users and dApps on the network. Furthermore, owning TREAT tokens gives users the ability to influence the platform’s growth through their voting power.
#4 ShibaEternity P2E
ShibaEternity is planning to enter the world of play-to-earn (P2E) games using the success of blockchain gaming as a foundation. Players in ShibaEternity may have the opportunity to earn rewards directly from gameplay, which will be incorporated into the larger economy of the Shiba Inu token.
#5 SHIB: The Metaverse
“SHIB: The Metaverse” intends to build a virtual world where people can socialize, exchange goods, and participate in various actions using a single digital universe. This endeavor is part of an expanding movement among notable cryptocurrency initiatives to develop captivating VR environments linked to their specific tokens.
Two years ago, in April 2022, the Shiba Inu team started taking bids for land in their metaverse project called SHIB: The Metaverse. However, up to now, there’s still no announced launch date for this initiative.
#6 K9 Finance Liquid Staking
With K9 Finance Liquid Staking in Shibarium, SHIB token owners can enjoy more flexible staking options. Instead of locking up their tokens completely, they can stake them while keeping them freely available in the market. This setup allows for continued trading and market engagement, all while earning potential rewards from staking.
#7 Shiba Inus Layer 3 Testnet
In Q3 of this year, we will begin testing a new blockchain technology, which is intended to be a Layer 3 addition. Once thorough testing and inspections have been completed, there will be a mainnet release. This innovation aspires to improve transaction privacy using sophisticated encryption methods, all while preserving swiftness and affordability. Additionally, it is designed to meet regulatory requirements for traceable confidential transactions.
The introduction of the TREAT token during the rollout will expand its role, making it not only essential for governance but also for transaction fees on the upcoming Layer 3 blockchain.
#8 Fully Functional DAOs
In simpler terms, Lucie announced that Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAO), capable of functioning independently, will be accessible for all tokens in the Shiba Inu community. This is an important step towards self-governing the Shiba Ecosystem.
Holders of tokens are expected to have the power to suggest modifications, take part in votes, and execute adjustments within the system, thereby increasing the role of the community in shaping and deciding on its development.
