Summary
- Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands and Limbo are the final two Epic Games Store freebies for May 2025.
- EGS users have until June 5 to claim these two titles released nearly 12 years apart.
For May 29th, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands and Limbo are the games being offered for free on the Epic Games Store. These distinctively different titles will be available for Epic Games Store users to claim until early June 2025.
Beginning May 8th, Epic shifted its common approach of announcing freebies on Epic Games Store a week ahead, instead opting for surprise game promotions where the titles are unveiled only when they can be claimed. Since then, the company has made available five mystery games to users of the Epic Games Store and promised to offer two more on May 29th.
The creator of Fortnite has kept their word by unveiling Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands and Limbo as the latest offerings at no cost. Starting from 11am ET on May 29, these games became available for claim, following the conclusion of the Epic Games Store’s unusual generous giveaway on May 22. For PC gamers, this opportunity to claim Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands and Limbo will last until June 5.

- Limbo (May 29 – June 5)
In essence, “Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands” is a spin-off of the “Borderlands” series, featuring a fantasy theme and developed by the character Tiny Tina. Released in March 2022, it combines the looter-shooter mechanics from “Borderlands” with sword fights, magic spells, and elements inspired by tabletop RPGs. Typically priced at $59.99, it often goes on sale. As of May 2025, “Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands” has a “Strong” rating on OpenCritic, averaging a score of 78 with a 76% recommendation rate from reviewers. This puts it in the middle of the series in terms of critical praise, surpassing games like “New Tales from the Borderlands” and “Borderlands Legends,” but falling below the popular mainline entries.
For the first time ever, the game “Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands” is being offered for free on the Epic Games Store. This is the fourth Borderlands product that the storefront has given away over the past five years, following “Borderlands: The Handsome Collection” in 2020, “Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep: A Wonderlands One-Shot Adventure” in 2021, and “Borderlands 3” in 2022.
On the other hand, the game “Limbo,” available for free again on May 29th, presents a unique case. It’s not like other games; it’s a chilling puzzle-platformer with an eerie ambiance and a sparse narrative. This masterpiece was created by Playdead Studios from Denmark and has been hailed as one of the most impactful independent games since its release in 2010. In fact, it received numerous awards post-release. Interestingly, this intriguing game was previously offered for free on the Epic Games Store back in July 2019.
