As a passionate Pokémon fan, I was thrilled during the July 2025 Pokemon Presents when Pokémon Scarlet and Violet unveiled Shiny Tera Raids tied to the Treasures of Ruin! However, trainers like myself can’t just catch them casually. Instead, we need to band together and defeat each Tera raid boss a whopping 1 million times! Once we reach this milestone, these rare creatures will be distributed as Mystery Gifts not long after. What an exciting challenge!
The legendary group, referred to as the “Treasures of Ruin,” consists of four Pokémons: Wo-Chien, Chien-Pao, Ting-Lu, and Chi-Yu. They are all sealed within shrines that can only be unlocked by pulling out specific stakes spread across Paldea. These Pokémons primarily belong to the Dark type, but they each have unique secondary types as well. A distinctive feature of these Pokémons is their signature move “Ruination,” which inflicts damage equal to half the target’s current health points. Despite their immense power, adjustments were made to their base stats shortly after the release of both Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, resulting in slight decreases for each one.
In contrast to past Legendary Tera Raids such as Shiny Rayquaza, players of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet won’t find it simple to capture the Shiny Treasures of Ruin. During the July 2025 Pokemon Presents, The Pokemon Company revealed that these Shiny Treasures will show up in Five-Star Tera Raid dens, with Shiny Wo-Chien appearing from Tuesday, July 22, at 8:00 PM Eastern to Sunday, August 3, at 7:59 PM Eastern.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Shiny Treasures Of Ruin Tera Raid Dates (July 22, 2025)
- Shiny Wo-Chien: Tuesday, July 22 (8:00 PM Eastern) to Sunday, August 3 (7:59 PM Eastern)
- Shiny Chien-Pao: Sunday, August 3 (8:00 PM Eastern) to Sunday, August 17 (7:59 PM Eastern)
- Shiny Ting-Lu: Sunday, August 17 (8:00 PM Eastern) to Sunday, August 31 (7:59 PM Eastern)
- Shiny Chi-Yu: Sunday, August 31 (8:00 PM Eastern) to Sunday, September 14 (7:59 PM Eastern)
Once all members of the Shiny Treasures of Ruin have been defeated collectively a total of one million times within their respective Tera raid periods, they will become available as a Mystery Gift distribution on the following Friday after the raid concludes. This means August 5 in Wo-Chien’s situation. Following this, Shiny Chien-Pao, Shiny Ting-Lu, and Shiny Chi-Yu will appear in Five-Star Tera Raids for a two-week stretch consecutively. For every 100,000 victories beyond the first million required to activate the Shiny Treasures of Ruin distributions, additional Tera Shards will be provided via Mystery Gift.

In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, each Shiny Raid Pokemon will adopt its non-Dark secondary type as its Tera type. For instance, Wo-Chien becomes a Tera-Grass type. Due to the fact that Five-Star Tera Raid bosses are always level 75, it’s suggested to use powerful Fire-type Pokemon like Incineroar and Blaziken when facing off against Wo-Chien and Chien-Pao. Similarly, Water or Fighting-type Pokemon will be useful against Ting-Lu and Chi-Yu. To ensure your contributions are recorded, players should keep their Internet connection active in these games.
Additionally, as they await the upcoming rewards from the Mystery Gift, players of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet can also secure exclusive tracksuits for their trainer characters. Eventually, we’ll see how many trainers will rise to the occasion and aim to conquer the Shimmering Treasures of Ruin.
