Best Weapon & Abyss Gears to Use in Crimson Desert

Varnia Sword x2

  • Purchase two Varnia Swords, as when fully refined, they each have Attack 30 and Critical Rate Lv 2.
  • You can purchase x1 Varnia Sword from the Equipment Shop in Varnia for 6.99 Silver Coins.
  • To get the second Varnia Sword, gift x10 Hides to gain +100 Trust with the Equipment Shop to purchase “Equipment Supply Contract – Varnia”,
  • This allows you to now purchase the Varnia Sword from your Howling Hill Camp Quartermaster.
  • Alternatively, you can use any two one-handed weapons that you have, so long as they have high Attack and Critical Rate built into the weapon.

Varnia Sword #1 Abyss Gears

Groundsurge Press R1+R2 (RB+RT) to shatter the ground in a frontal cone to deal damage. Acquired from defeating Myurdin in Chapter 7’s “Decisive Battle” Main Quest.
Greysoul Howling Press R1+R2 (RB+RT) to call forth the phantom of Goyen, unleashing a sweeping strike of shadow energy. Acquired from Fated Shadow, a sword found in the Nest of Valor after defeating Goyen in Chapter 9’s “Unwavering Steps” Main Quest.
Spirit’s Judgment Press R1+Circle(RB+B) to command a spectral knight to strike down the enemy. Acquired from defeating Fortain, the Cursed Knight in Chapter 8’s “The Cursed Knight” Main Quest.
  • Groundsurge is great for extra damage during Turning Slash.
  • Greysoul Howling adds further stacking damage to Turning Slash, which will be your primary method of attacking bosses for damage and stun.
  • Spirit’s Judgment is great for countering enemies, as it can only be used with R1+Circle when an enemy attacks, allowing you to not only dodge with precision, but also to deal great stun.

Relentless Damage increases with consecutive attacks. Acquired from defeating Muskan in the Bonepit in the “Emperor of the Bonepit” Tommaso Faction Quest in the Crimson Desert.
  • Crow’s Pursuit will increase the damage of your Heavy Attacks by sending out homing crows that act like missiles.
  • Shadow Claw will also increase the damage of your Heavy Attacks with slashing claws that deal more stun with every strike.
  • Relentless ensures that your damage will constantly increase with every consecutive attack.

Armor is mostly about how it looks, with only small differences in performance. Here’s a look at some of the armor sets you can find: Shadow Armor, Frostcursed Armor, Dark Marksman Armor, and Scorchflame Armor.

Helmet Abyss Gears

Momentum +35% Turning Slash Damage. Acquired from the Leather Helm of the Fallen Kingdom, which is in a Treasure Chest in the Sanctum of Benediction in Hernand.
  • Momentum increases Turning Slash damage by +35% is incredible, especially when combined with Groundsurge and Greysoul Howling.

  • Vigor III is essential for maintaining Stamina Regen, as your Heavy Attacks and dodges will certainly drain more Stamina than you can regenerate.
  • Aegis III x2 increases damage mitigation that scales better than Defense, meaning you will take less damage from attacks, regardless of how strong a boss might be.

Gloves Abyss Gears

Abyss Gear Description Location
Volcanic Eruption Press (R2+L2) after Turning Slash (R1+R2) to shatter a molten boulder, dealing fire damage to nearby enemies. Acquired from the Scorchflame Plate Gloves, which are in the Twilight Grotto Cave behind the Denn River waterfall in Demeniss.
Flames of Judgment Sends out sparks of flame to deal additional fire damage. Acquired from the Eclipsed Solas Plate Gloves, obtained from defeating Lucian Bastier in “Traitor”, the Chapter 8 Main Quest.
  • Volcanic Eruption is a follow-up attack during Turning Slash that deals immense stun and damage through fire, but it does require Flame Lv 1, Imbue Element Lv 1, and requires you to equip Flame as your Spirit Element from the Functions Wheel.
  • Flames of Judgment also requires Flame Lv 1, but with your Imbue Element Lv 1 attacks, you’ll see even more flames explode enemies and bosses.

  • Swift III x2 will increase your Attack Speed by +6, which means you’re going to be able to switch from Turning Slash to Heavy Attacks far quicker, and deal immense damage, especially when using Relentless, which increases damage with consecutive attacks.

We’ve left out Shield and Cloak Abyss Gears because cloaks can’t equip Abyss Gears, and this build uses a second one-handed weapon instead of a shield.

Best Accessories to Use in Crimson Desert

Necklace of Lightning

  • Obtained from the Eastern Court Lockbox, located east of Demeniss.

  • We use the Necklace of Lightning, as when it’s fully upgraded, it adds Critical Rate Lv 4, Attack 5, and +0.3 Spirit every 1 second.

Ancient Earring

  • Obtained from the Azerian Manor Strongbox in Demeniss.

  • When fully upgraded, the Ancient Earring provides 6 Defense, Lv 4 Movement Speed, and +0.6 Health every 1 second.

Black Lion Earring

  • Obtained by killing and skinning the Black Lion.
  • The Black Lion is part of the “Legendary Animals” House Celeste Faction Quests in Hernand.
  • When fully upgraded, the Black Lion Earring adds +6 Defense, Lv 4 Movement Speed, and +0.6 Health every 1 second.

Mark of Darkness Ring

  • Obtained from Windmere Manor, north of Demeniss.

  • The Mark of Darkness Ring, when fully upgraded, adds +3 Attack, Lv 4 Attack Speed, and Stamina Regen +6%.

Witch’s Ring

  • Obtained from defeating Goyen in Chapter 9’s “Unwavering Steps” Main Quest.
  • The Witch’s Ring, fully upgraded, will increase Attack by 3, Attack Speed to Lv 4, and Stamina Regen +6%.

Best Skills to Use in Crimson Desert

Stamina Lv 14

Build up your stamina as much as possible so you can dodge attacks and use powerful moves without getting tired. This will let you keep fighting without needing to pause to recover.

Health Lv 18

Having good health lets you take more hits without being defeated, but it’s less crucial than other abilities.

Spirit Lv 12

Enhance Spirit so you can use even more Turning Slash attacks before you need to regenerate Spirit.

Forward Slash Lv 3
