Enthusiasts of the video game “Assassin’s Creed” have received a hint about a potential new game following the dissemination of intriguing information by a leaker to the community, with many believing it connects to the speculations surrounding “Black Flag.” Ubisoft’s “Assassin’s Creed” franchise has maintained its popularity since 2007, and the intellectual property recently marked the launch of “Assassin’s Creed Shadows,” a game that centers on two protagonists, Yasuke and Naoe. Moreover, there are still several unpublished games in development for this series, such as “Assassin’s Creed Jade” for mobile devices like Android and iOS, and “Assassin’s Creed: Codename Hexe,” which focuses on witch hunts and the supernatural.
Among the favorites in the series, there’s undeniably Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, and rumors of a remake have been swirling within gaming circles for some time now. Launched in 2013, this action-packed adventure game introduces us to a Welsh pirate who’s on the trail of an enigmatic Observatory location. The voice actor behind our protagonist, Edward, has hinted at a potential remake of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, though he’s remained coy about specifics.
On Twitter, a trusted insider known as PlayStationSize posted various PPSA codes for the predecessors of Assassin’s Creed, specifically Valhalla, Mirage, and Shadows. He also mentioned a new code with a similar sequence, hinting at an upcoming game. The speculation among fans immediately turned towards the rumored Black Flag remake, as it wasn’t expected to be Hexe yet, nor a DLC since it wouldn’t have its own standalone code, and it was already known that Jade isn’t coming to PlayStation. Earlier in the month, there were whispers about a Black Flag remake after changes were made to Ubisoft’s Steam page, fueling the rumor mill even further.
Assassin’s Creed New Game Leak Teases Black Flag Remake
It’s been speculated among fans that the leak might pertain to an upcoming downloadable content (DLC) for Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Shadows, tentatively scheduled for release this year. During a financial conference call, Ubisoft provided a more precise date for the Claws of Awaji expansion of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which coincides with the suspected launch window for the leaked game. A Twitter user suggested that the PS Store classifies DLC content as new titles, potentially explaining the coding used in the leak.
Players of Assassin’s Creed Shadows will find a fresh, new element to explore in the meantime, arriving with Title Update 1.0.7 on July 29th. This update brings New Game+, a feature often introduced later in games, allowing players to replay the content while retaining the items and certain advancements they’ve earned after finishing the story for the first time.
