Super Mario Party Jamboree Releases New Update for August 2025

The developer of Super Mario Party Jamboree, Nintendo Cube, has recently released an update for the game on the Nintendo Switch 2. This update addresses one issue that players may encounter while playing Super Mario Party Jamboree on their Nintendo Switch 2 console. Although this is a relatively minor update, gamers who own Super Mario Party Jamboree on their Nintendo Switch 2 should be pleased to see it.

Back in 2024, I got my hands on an incredible game – “Super Mario Jamboree” for the Nintendo Switch! It’s the newest addition to the beloved Mario series, bringing fresh maps, modes, and a whole lot more. This game was a smash hit with the developers, as it quickly became a fan favorite. As per Nintendo, by February 2025, “Super Mario Jamboree” had sold an astounding 6.17 million units, making it not only the fastest-selling Mario Party game but also the fifth best-seller in the entire franchise!

Currently, the 2.1.1 update has been released for “Super Mario Party Jamboree”, addressing a problem found in its Nintendo Switch 2 edition. This bug caused online leaderboards for specific mini-games to show rankings even when they weren’t earned by the player. Although it might appear inconsequential initially, this fix is crucial for competitive gamers who value authenticity in online rankings as the updated numbers will now reflect legitimate scores.

The new update, version 2.1.0, released in July 2025, is the follow-up to the one for “Mario Party Jamboree”. This significant update addressed several lingering issues within the most recent iteration of “Mario Party” and also introduced official compatibility with the upcoming Switch 2 edition of the widely played party game prior to its launch.

The updated version of Super Mario Party Jamboree, titled Super Mario Party Jamboree: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV, hit shelves on July 24. This new edition was designed for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 console. Since its release, it’s garnered a mixed response from fans. Those who own the original game have the option to upgrade to this version, but at a cost of $20 for the upgrade or $80 for the complete package, many feel that the price is steep and question whether it offers enough value.

Regardless, “Super Mario Party Jamboree” still ranks among the top-tier “Mario Party” games ever produced, and it’s gratifying to observe that it continues to receive regular updates. Upon its initial release, the original game garnered an average critic rating of 81 on OpenCritic. Time will tell if “Super Mario Party” maintains its popularity on the Switch 2, and whether Nintendo Cube plans to expand the title with additional content, or if they will only address minor issues like the recent one.
