‘Please Wait Patiently For It’: Naruto Author Kishimoto Teases Plans About A New Manga Series

This article contains spoilers for the Naruto series.

As a devoted fan myself, I can’t help but eagerly anticipate Masashi Kishimoto’s return to manga-writing! Kishimoto is undeniably one of the greatest mangaka ever, and his work on Naruto has proven its timeless appeal. Naruto isn’t just a popular series-it’s a global phenomenon that continues to captivate audiences even years after its conclusion. And who knows? Decades from now, it could very well be recognized as one of the greatest fictional stories ever told!

Although Naruto remains widely beloved, there’s a strong desire among fans for Masashi Kishimoto to produce new content, given he hasn’t worked on Weekly Shonen Jump for nearly a decade. Kishimoto’s recent remarks hint at the possibility of his return to Jump.

Kishimoto Wants To Spend More Time With His Family

  • Kishimoto Promised His Family Quality Time
  • Naruto’s End Allowed Kishimoto To Rest

After Naruto concluded, Kishimoto yearned for a well-deserved break and the opportunity to bond with his family. Being a mangaka is demanding, often leaving little time for personal life. With Naruto finished, Kishimoto could finally enjoy some quality moments with his loved ones. Now, it appears that Kishimoto intends to rejoin Shonen Jump, and his plans seem to be taking shape gradually.

Previously, Kishimoto traveled to Paris with Ikemoto, and during their trip, he expressed his intent to launch a fresh manga series. As additional insights from the interview are revealed, it appears that enthusiasts will indeed be treated to a new manga from this renowned creator.

Prioritizing for me is all about nurturing my loved ones, maintaining my wellbeing, and maybe diving into a fresh manga. – (Hikaru)

Kishimoto Might Return To Write Manga In The Future

Kishimoto Wants To Explore Some Big Plans In His Next Manga

Although the exact timeline for Kishimoto’s upcoming manga release remains unclear, fans can be reassured that he is indeed pondering over his next project. Here’s a glimpse into Kishimoto’s thoughts on his future series:

Initially in Naruto, there was a recurring theme where dedication surpassed natural ability, which was demonstrated through the characters of Rock Lee, Guy, and Naruto himself. However, later on, it turned out that Naruto was actually the son of the Fourth Hokage. Did you ever ponder over providing Naruto with an ordinary upbringing instead, as opposed to making him a “chosen one”?

Kishimoto:

Initially, I created the character Naruto as a reflection of my own childhood struggles with poverty and yearning for recognition. Just like me, growing up in a small town and seeking validation without much success. As I delved deeper into his story, Naruto started gaining global acclaim. However, once I’d achieved that recognition, I hit a creative block when it came to continuing his story. To move past this, I decided to explore possibilities related to family history or bloodlines. Additionally, I recognized the impact of living up to expectations and the burden it can place on individuals. So, I incorporated those insights into Naruto’s character development. I hope to share my findings about these themes someday in a manga, so please bear with me while I work on it.

When Will Kishimoto Return?

With this statement, Kishimoto expressed that he believes spending time with his family and engaging with his fans could provide him with the inspiration and renewed energy needed for a potential return to Jump. For now, it’s uncertain when or what his next project might be, as he hasn’t revealed any details yet.
