2026 will be an exciting year for Magic: The Gathering, with four sets crossing over with popular franchises. The year kicks off in March with a full expansion based on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Throughout the year, players can also look forward to Magic sets inspired by Marvel, The Hobbit, and Star Trek. Plus, two sets continuing the game’s established storylines – Secrets of Strixhaven and Reality Fracture – will also be released. Recently, fans received a surprising hint about another upcoming Magic set.

As a gamer, I’ve come across a few titles that just feel… flawless. This list is all about those games – the ones released since 2010 that are seriously hard to fault. I’m looking at everything when I think about what makes a game great: how fun and memorable it is, what new things it brought to the table, how polished and technically sound it is, and whether I still want to play it years later. But it’s important to remember that everyone has different tastes, and no list can ever include every game someone might think is perfect.

I took a long break from Magic: The Gathering when I was 19, but I got back into playing and collecting a couple of years ago when the Bloomburrow set was announced. I bought all four Commander decks from Bloomburrow, plus a collector’s booster display, a regular booster box, the starter decks, and a pre-release kit. I quickly became really engaged again, and I’m already excited about the Lorwyn Eclipsed set. I’ve been involved with Magic: The Gathering for most of my life, so while I understand why Wizards of the Coast is making changes to the Ashling, the Limitless card before it’s even released, I also think it’s a sign of a larger issue with the game.
