Finding these mystical portals is no walk in the park, but once you do, getting through the challenging obstacle courses within them will really put your skills to the test. This guide is here to help, revealing the exact locations of all 10 Ankou Rifts scattered across the missions where they’re hidden.

Before embarking on your search for any Ankou Rifts, it’s advisable to gather all the Ningi tools first within Shinobi: Art of Vengeance. Some rifts can be accessed easily, but others, particularly those in initial missions, often demand having all movement tools at your disposal.

Oboro Village Ankou Rift Location

As a fan, I’d excitedly say: “To discover the mystical Oboro Village Ankou Rift, you’ll first need to soar through Sword Dive, revealing a secret corner within the grand room sheltering the Attic shrine. Descend onto the expansive area with the fiery floor, then keep an eye out for a Yokai Barrier at the base. With a mighty swing of your sword, break through it to unveil the rift!

The Mountain Ankou Rift Location

Beginning your journey from the Waterfalls sanctuary, follow a lengthy ascent through the mountain that leads you to the Ankou Rift. Upon locating the entrance to the facility, ascend, scale the right wall with your Ninja Claws, and continue on the obvious path upward. You’ll discover a hidden area unlike any other along the way. Once you spot the downward slopes pointing back towards the bottom, leap into the air and utilize your Ninja Hook to ascend even higher until you reach the Ankou Rift at the peak.

Lantern Festival Ankou Rift Location

At the Lantern Festival, the Ankou Rift can be located by venturing between the Buildings and Fireworks shrines. This particular location is more accessible than the one in the Mountain level, making it easier for you to reach, provided that you possess the necessary Ningi to access it.

Neo City Ankou Rift Location

The Neo City Ankou Rift is situated on the farthest left part of the map. To reach it, teleport to the end of the West District (the shrine located beneath the large SEGA billboard). Afterward, continue moving towards the left side. You’ll encounter a path leading to a hidden area along the way, which contains some secrets and the level’s Ankou Rift at its highest point.

Fish Market Ankou Rift Location

Just beyond the Fish Market level lies a fissure, situated immediately before the sacred site of the Containers shrine. From this shrine, retrace your steps to the prior area, and then navigate towards the upper-right corner of the room. This path leads to an additional secret-laden hideout. Ascend through the challenging course ahead, and you’ll come across hanging containers that allow for a slide back down. Jump off the final one, and to your right lies the Ankou Rift.

Submarine Base Ankou Rift Location

The Submarine Base rift can be found near the B3 Shrine on the floor below. It’s quite a trek to get there, requiring you to advance considerably through the level before you can reach it. If you haven’t tackled this mission yet, it would be wise to focus on completing that task first. The rift is situated at the conclusion of a rather challenging obstacle course.

The Desert Ankou Rift Location

As a dedicated fan, I’d share this tip: In the epic saga of Shinobi: Art of Vengeance, one of the longest missions takes you through the heart of the desert. Not far from there, you’ll stumble upon the Astral Ruins shrine. Jump off from its left side, then soar using your glider towards a concealed corridor leading to the Astral Labyrinth, a hidden zone. Here, you’ll find yourself navigating a complex maze with the help of your trusty glider. Look for crystals nestled within and strike them to dissipate the energy walls obstructing your path. The Ankou Rift can be found in the centrally located, square-shaped room at the heart of this intricate maze.

Mad Train Ankou Rift Location

Among all, the Mad Train fissure is the most accessible one. To get there, just teleport to the Convoy sanctuary, and then proceed to your left. You’ll find it in a tiny room located beyond the chasm.

ENE Corp Ankou Rift Location

As of now, we haven’t located the ENE Corp Laboratory Ankou Rift. But after exhaustive searches and discovering every hidden treasure in the area, it seems the Ankou Rift is probably hidden within a chamber beneath the Containment Room shrine. There’s a terminal there that players can’t access until they’ve retrieved all six Laboratory Keys from other levels.

The Kaiju Ankou Rift Location

The Kaiju Ankou Rift is the final one that players are likely to discover, and it’s quite accessible. To locate it, continue progressing through the level until you reach the Second Stomach shrine. Once there, clear away the fleshy barrier obstructing the large gap to the left of the shrine, then soar towards the left-most side to find the rift. Remember to avoid contact with any spikes on the ceiling and walls for safety.
