Around forty minutes of footage from the Star Wars Outlaws game, allegedly played on a hypothetical Nintendo Switch 2, has surfaced online.
As a die-hard fan, I couldn’t help but share my excitement after stumbling upon an early gameplay video for the upcoming game, posted by the amazing YouTuber mataleao. He managed to get his hands on it before its official September 4, 2025 release on Switch 2! Check out the video below and join me in counting down the days until we can experience this masterpiece ourselves.
Some users on YouTube have remarked that the gameplay is impressively well-done, with several commenting that it not only resembles but also performs smoother than Cyberpunk 2077.
1. “Selfbaptized on YouTube comments: This performs remarkably well, though it’s not 60fps and 1080p, it still looks very fluid. Some users are being overly critical, perhaps because they have high expectations for this platform.”
2. “Another user on YouTube: I didn’t expect it to look this good,” expresses another viewer.
Both paraphrased sentences maintain the original meaning and are easy to understand while sounding natural and conversational in tone.
Does Star Wars Outlaws on Switch 2 Run Poorly?
As a lucky gamer who got hands-on with Star Wars Outlaws at PAX West 2025, I must admit that my gaming experience wasn’t quite stellar. The game seemed to struggle a bit, as the frame rate dipped below the ideal 30 FPS on several occasions during my playtime.
It appears that media outlets were prohibited from recording gameplay footage. Those who got a chance to play the game described it as quite rough or unpolished.
It’s still unclear how smoothly the game will run overall, but based on the 40-minute footage of Star Wars: Outlaws that was shared on YouTube, it appears that the game runs quite smoothly.
The planned sequel for a Star Wars Outlaws game, reportedly still in its initial phases, got scrapped because it failed to meet the company’s internal quality standards.
