When Jeff Kaplan first presented the idea for Overwatch 2 to fans, he described it as a huge improvement over the original game, featuring new game modes, a complete story campaign with character progression, and much more. However, after Jeff Kaplan left Blizzard, the scope of Overwatch 2‘s release was greatly reduced, despite initial promises. Instead of the major update fans had anticipated for years, the game launched as an early access version with substantial changes, many of which weren’t well-received.

During the presentation, a logo revealed that the trilogy is being remade. While they didn’t show any gameplay or announce a release date, Sony Santa Monica Studio confirmed the project is in its early stages and that more information will be shared later. The studio noted that remaking the Greek saga was a highly requested feature from fans, and they’re grateful for the continued enthusiasm for the original games.

While Independence Day: Resurgence (2016) didn’t quite live up to hopes with its complicated storyline, the original Independence Day remains popular, suggesting another sequel could be successful. A new project in this universe could work well, particularly if it tried a different approach to storytelling.

Nintendo revealed a version of Super Mario Bros. Wonder for the Switch 2 during their September 2025 Nintendo Direct. It will launch on March 26th with a longer title: Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park. This new edition includes a brand-new world called Bellabel Park, featuring 23 levels built for both cooperative and competitive multiplayer. The game will also introduce several new characters to play as, along with an Assist Mode to help players through difficult parts. This extra content won’t be available on the original Switch.
