As a dedicated gamer, I’ve been on quite the quest to catch ’em all in Pokémon GO, but Mr. Mime, that iconic first-gen Pokémon with the mysterious powers and friendly vibes from Ash Ketchum’s mom’s world, has always seemed elusive due to being region-locked. You see, this Psychic/Fairy-type creature is only found roaming freely across Europe. So, if you’re like me, living stateside, it means either packing your bags for a lengthy adventure or relying on a trading buddy who’s got connections (or a passport) in the old world!

During the ongoing Kanto Celebration event in Pokemon GO, there are special Timed Research events happening for various Pokemon such as Kangaskhan and Farfetch’d. These events make it simpler to catch typically elusive pocket monsters. The Mime Time Timed Research event begins on September 4 at 10 am local time and lasts for a full day. Once you complete all five tasks, you’ll have the opportunity to encounter Mime Jr.

Make 30 Nice Throws 25 Mega Energy for Venusaur
Make 15 Great Throws 25 Mega Energy for Charizard

Final Reward Mr. Mime Encounter, 5000 Stardust, and 5000 XP
