How to Fish in Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar

On the seventh day of Spring, don’t forget that you can’t embark on a fishing trip without the essential gear. Luckily for you, as the sun rises early in the morning on this particular day, Wilbur (the local carpenter) will be there to greet you. He’ll offer his vintage fishing rod and spend some time teaching you the fundamentals of casting a line. Afterward, he’ll challenge you to catch three fish and return them to him.

Wilbur is also the guy who helps you upgrade your inventory later on.

To successfully catch a fish, head towards any suitable body of water, arm yourself with a fishing rod, and throw your line into the water. After waiting for a moment, if a fish takes the bait, begin to reel it in. The key is to bring the fish ashore before the rod’s strength runs out. A green bar on the screen displays the remaining durability of the rod. As you reel, pay close attention to the fish’s endurance level as well.

Initially, players can catch common fish suitable for the early stages of the game. To capture rarer species, though, you’ll need to enhance your fishing rod. You can achieve this enhancement at the windmills, with the initial one being the Red Windmill, which grants up to three upgrades for your rod.
