All Lost Loot Locations in Borderlands 4

Okay, so if you’re like me and constantly losing stuff, there are six places you can go to try and recover your lost loot. Most of them are in the Faction Towns you unlock as you play through the story. The first one, and honestly the most important, is at The Launchpad. You’ll unlock that with the Outbounders after you finish the ‘Down and Outbound’ mission – that’s the third main quest. Here are the other places where you can find a Lost Loot machine…

  • The Launchpad (The Howl, Fadefields)
  • Belton’s Bore (The Low Leys, Terminus Range)
  • Carcadia (Ruined Sumplands, Carcadia Burn)
  • The Lockaway (Carcadia District, Dominion City)
  • The Food Court (Terminus District, Dominion City)
  • Sumpview Falls (Fades District, Dominion City)

What Does the Lost Loot Machine Do in Borderlands 4?

Can You Filter Rarities in the Lost Loot Machine?

The Lost Loot machine automatically gathers items you find in chests or that enemies drop – even those you might have accidentally left behind. You’ll need to regularly visit the machine to collect your items, because it stops working when full. If it’s full, you could miss out on valuable gear, like Legendary items that fall into hard-to-reach places. It’s a good idea to empty the Lost Loot machine before tackling difficult challenges or exploring, so you can sell unwanted items or discard them all as junk.

The Lost Loot machine doesn’t let you choose what rarity of items it collects. You can’t set it to only grab Legendary items, or specific types like Shields. While you can upgrade the machine to hold up to 14 items using SDU Tokens, it simply picks up the first item it finds, meaning a common item could fill a slot you were hoping to save for something legendary. It doesn’t prioritize rarer items.
