Since it came out, WWE 2K25 has been adding more wrestlers through downloadable content (DLC), building on its already large selection. Recent additions include stars like The Great Khali, New Jack, and Penta. Now, a new DLC pack called “Attitude Era Superstars,” launching on September 17th, is bringing back some beloved wrestlers from the past. Fans who grew up watching the WWE’s famous Attitude Era will be excited to see D’Lo Brown, Mark Henry, Victoria, Billy Gunn, and the Road Dogg join the game.
Game Rant recently interviewed WWE Hall of Famer Road Dogg about being added to the Attitude Era Superstars Pack in *WWE 2K25*. Known as one half of the famous New Age Outlaws tag team, Road Dogg discussed some of his favorite matches and which ones he’d love to be featured in a potential Showcase mode dedicated to his career.
The Road Dogg on His Career Highlights
Road Dogg, known as part of one of WWE’s most beloved tag teams, had a career filled with iconic moments. Beyond his six world tag team championships, he also won the Hardcore and Intercontinental titles during his first seven years with the company. When asked about his favorite matches for a potential ‘Road Dogg Showcase’ video game mode, he explained,
I recently rewatched my wrestling match against a competitor from China in the 1999 King of the Ring qualifying round. She was physically very strong, and looking back, I was impressed by how well I performed. It was a great example of effective technique and strategy, and I was surprised by how good I actually was. I thought it was an incredible match.
There are a couple of other matches that really stick out in my mind. The Dumpster match at Wrestlemania 14 was definitely one of them. I wrestled Big Boss Man for the hardcore championship and, with some help from Mick Foley – he threw a net over Boss Man – I managed to pin him and win the title. It was a fantastic match. Another memorable opponent was Al Snow. We had some really intense hardcore matches. I remember one time he grabbed a Christmas plant and threw it about 30 feet, hitting me right in the face! We definitely had some great battles.
Road Dogg on Who He’d Have Liked to Team Up With
Road Dogg will appear in another WWE 2K game, marking his third time being featured since the series became WWE 2K. He was previously in WWE 2K17 and WWE 2K22 as part of the standard game lineup, not as downloadable content. Considering the many talented wrestlers on the current roster, Road Dogg was asked who he would have most enjoyed teaming with during his wrestling prime.
If they started having mixed-gender matches like they’re doing now, I’d want to team with Rhea Ripley against everyone else! If I had to pick a male partner, I’d probably go with Billy Gunn. But if it was someone new, I’d choose Austin Theory – I’m a big fan of his and think he’s still got a lot more to show.
As a long-time wrestling game fan, I’ve seen how much these games have changed over the years, and Road Dogg has been *in* a lot of them! Honestly, *WWE 2K25* is getting a ton of praise – people are saying it’s the best one in ages. And with legends like the New Age Outlaws now available as DLC, I think it’s gonna get even more popular. I’m really excited to play as them!
