As a huge EA Sports FC fan, I’m really excited about all the ways to play with friends in FC 26! While the single-player stuff is great, nothing beats a match with a buddy. Whether it’s a quick Kick Off game to settle a score, testing out our Ultimate Teams against each other, or teaming up to take on opponents, playing with friends just makes the game so much more fun. And the best part? Crossplay means I can play with my friends no matter what platform they’re on! In this guide, I’m going to walk you through everything you need to know about playing with friends in EA FC 26, how crossplay works, and even how to turn it off if you prefer sticking to players on your same platform.

How to Play with Friends in EA FC 26

Playing with Friends Online

If you want to play EA FC 26’s Ultimate Team with a friend, check the game modes in the menus. Look for options that have a ‘Play with a Friend’ button on their icon, or that say ‘Solo or Co-Op’ underneath the name – that means you can play together, like in the example shown.

Okay, so if I want to play against a friend in Ultimate Team, it’s pretty easy. I just head into the ‘Play’ section, then select the ‘Play vs Friend’ option. From there, I pick who I want to invite, and then just wait for them to accept and join my game. It’s a simple way to get a match going!

If you don’t want to play Ultimate Team, you can team up with a friend online in Co-Op Seasons. You can find it in the main menu, where you can either start a new season together or load up one you’ve already created.

The Clubs mode (previously called Pro Clubs) lets up to 11 players each control a single player on a team, competing against others. You’ll play matches together, aiming to climb the ranks, win titles, and improve your player along the way. It’s a really enjoyable way to play with friends, and it’s my favorite mode in *EA FC 26*.

Playing with Friends in Couch Co-Op

While EA FC 26 offers robust online multiplayer, the local couch co-op experience is a bit more streamlined. You can still enjoy classic matches against friends with the Kick Off mode, choosing your favorite teams and competing head-to-head. For a customized experience, the House Rules option lets you create your own unique gameplay rules.

How to Add Friends for Crossplay Multiplayer

To add friends in the game, open the EA Connect menu by pressing RT on Xbox or R2 on PlayStation. Go to the ‘Player Search’ tab and select ‘Add Friend’. You’ll see your unique EA ID there – share this with your friends so they can add you, or ask them for theirs. Once connected on EA Connect, you can find them in your friends list within the menu and invite them to play with you in any compatible game mode using the ‘Play with a Friend’ option.

When near the goal, try shooting low and hard. Also, using quick players can give you an advantage.

How to Turn Off Crossplay

To disable crossplay, start by opening the settings menu – it’s the icon in the upper-left corner of the main screen. Then, go to ‘Online Settings’ and select ‘Matchmaking Options’.

You have two choices here, and the second one lets you disable cross-play. Turning this off means you’ll only play with people using the same device as you – like Xbox players with other Xbox players, or PC players with other PC players. If you want to play with people on different platforms again, just come back to this setting and turn cross-play back on.

Just so you know, crossplay doesn’t allow players on different generations of consoles to play together. For instance, someone with an Xbox Series X can’t play with a friend on a PS4.

Turning off crossplay in the settings will prevent you from playing with friends on different gaming systems, even if you’re connected with them through your EA ID. This restriction will remain until you re-enable crossplay.
