I won’t bother trying to get you to spend hundreds of hours playing Final Fantasy 14 just for a Monster Hunter Wilds event. I love the game, but it’s not worth it unless you’re already invested in the story. I just want to share this unbelievably cute baby Seikret minion that’s part of the collaboration rewards, and then I’ll leave it up to you. What you decide to do after that is your own choice.
In October, a baby Seikret and a Vigorwasp will be joining the world of Final Fantasy XIV during its Monster Hunter Wilds collaboration. Some players were hoping for a Palico companion, and that’s understandable – they’re adorable! However, we already had a Palico-like creature when Rathalos appeared in the Monster Hunter: World crossover during the Stormblood expansion, and you can still obtain one today.
Honestly, check out this bird. It’s tiny, can’t fly, and doesn’t seem very bright. But I’m determined to get one, even if I have to face Arkveld alone.
The official website for the Monster Hunter Wilds crossover in Final Fantasy XIV recently revealed more details about rewards and the Arkveld trial, called The Windward Wilds. To fight the main wyvern, you’ll need an item level of 725. Similar to the Rathalos fight, the White Wraith in the Extreme difficulty version of The Windward Wilds will increase the challenge and require an item level of 740.
Okay, so if you’re trying to get fully geared up, just doing the main story quests won’t be enough to reach item level 725. You’ll need some extra pieces, but thankfully getting tomestones to fill those gaps isn’t too time-consuming. To hit 740, you’ll need even more current gear, but honestly, if you have some gil to spare, crafted gear is a really quick way to boost your item level when you’re in a hurry!

- Arkveld weapons

- Several housing items
It seems there’s more to the update than initially meets the eye. Square Enix likely hinted at a complete arsenal of weapons, along with standard additions like music rolls for customizing player housing.
No problem at all. I’d be happy just to get a baby Seikret. You obtained the Poogie by successfully completing The Great Hunt (Extreme) with a bit of luck, or after five attempts if you needed to farm Rathalos scales. I usually end up trading 99 tokens for rewards anyway, so if you’re trying to get this little one, I’ll probably see you in the party finder!
