So, *Dune: Awakening* is still pretty new – it’s only been out a few months – and honestly, it feels like it has a ton of potential. They just dropped the first DLC, *Lost Harvest*, last week, which is awesome and really expands the Arrakis experience. I’m loving digging deeper into the world, but I’ve been thinking… it’d be incredible to explore other planets in the Dune universe, too. Sadly, it doesn’t seem like the developers, Funcom, are planning on going that route, which is a bit of a bummer.

This focus on Arrakis suggests that new planets won’t be added anytime soon, though the developers hope to explore other worlds in the future.

If you haven’t played Dune: Awakening yet, it takes place in a version of the Dune universe where Paul Atreides never existed. This creates a lot of interesting new storylines and possibilities.

Funcom hasn’t announced any plans to expand beyond the planet Arrakis in *Dune: Awakening*, but before they do, they need to finalize the game’s endgame. The Deep Desert, while a promising idea for large-scale player conflict, currently feels a bit empty to many players. Even if the game were to add new planets, the developers should focus on perfecting Arrakis first to ensure a fully engaging experience.
