The two series, “Game of Thrones” and “House of the Dragon,” share a common theme: the struggle for power over the Iron Throne. Despite being set 200 years apart, this is the central focus. However, “Game of Thrones,” which came before “House of the Dragon,” remains the preferred choice among viewers. This preference is due to several aspects where “House of the Dragon” falls short or fails to impress as much.

Although King’s Landing serves as the capital of Westeros in the show, numerous storylines unfold in various places like Harrenhal, Winterfell, the Wall, the Riverlands, and Dorne. Each location carries great importance to the plots and continues for several seasons.
