Blizzard recently launched a new collaboration for Overwatch 2 with the popular RPG Persona 5. Five Overwatch 2 heroes received new skins inspired by the Phantom Thieves of Hearts. Wuyang, the newest support hero, was styled after Joker, while Mercy and Lifeweaver were given skins based on Panther and Fox, respectively. D.Va received a Queen-inspired look, and Genji was styled after Skull. The collaboration also included a variety of purchasable in-game items like highlight intros, weapon charms, name cards, and emotes.
The skins released in the *Overwatch 2* and *Persona 5* collaboration have generally been well-received, but some players disagree with how certain skins were assigned to heroes. Many believe the Fox skin would have been a better fit for Genji instead of Lifeweaver, as both characters share a fox motif and utilize swords. Additionally, some fans are disappointed that not all members of the Phantom Thieves from *Persona 5* received skins. While the initial choices are already made, Blizzard and Atlus could address the lack of skins by releasing another *Overwatch 2* x *Persona 5* collaboration in the future.
Overwatch 2 Should Get Another Collab With Persona 5
One potential misstep in Blizzard’s *Persona 5* crossover event was the lack of a Noir-themed skin for the character Juno. Many players predicted a pairing between Juno and Noir (Haru Okumura) before the event launched, and for good reason. Both characters share the same English voice actress, Xanthe Huynh, and have remarkably similar personalities. They also both connect to space: Juno is originally from Mars, and Noir’s father’s storyline revolves around a space station. It’s surprising, therefore, that Blizzard and Atlus didn’t include more representation for Noir in this collaboration.

It’s surprising that Sombra didn’t get an Oracle skin as part of the collaboration. While their personalities are different, both characters are skilled hackers. Oracle, also known as Futaba Sakura, didn’t use weapons in Persona 5, but she disabled enemies with her attacks – a tactic similar to Sombra’s. They actually would have been a really fitting pair.

Potential Skins that Blizzard Could Add in a Second Overwatch 2 x Persona 5 Collab
- Juno as Noir (Haru Okumura)
- Sombra as Oracle (Futaba Sakura)
- Wrecking Ball as Morgana
- Hanzo as Crow (Goro Akechi)
- Kiriko as Violet (Kasumi Yoshizawa)
If *Overwatch 2* and *Persona 5* collaborated again, Morgana would be a fun character to include. He’s essentially a talking cat, which makes finding a fitting *Overwatch 2* hero tricky due to size. Luckily, Wrecking Ball, the hamster who pilots a mech, could work! While he’s not a cat, Blizzard and Atlus could create a Morgana skin for him, dressing the mech to look like Morgana and changing its colors to match his car form.

Besides the Phantom Thieves you already know, there are two more officially recognized characters – Sophie and Wolf. However, they only appear in the spin-off game, *Persona 5 Strikers*.
Overwatch 2 Doesn’t Have Obvious Counterparts for Some of the Other Phantom Thieves in Persona 5

Okay, so we’ve talked about some awesome Persona 5 x Overwatch 2 skins, but what about Crow and Violet? They haven’t gotten much attention, and I’d love to see them get some love in a future crossover. I think Hanzo would be *perfect* as Crow – both he and Crow’s Persona, Robin Hood, are all about bows and arrows. And Violet? I think she’d fit really well with Kiriko. They have similar builds, and since they’re both Japanese characters like everyone in Persona 5, it would make a ton of sense for Blizzard to include them in another Overwatch 2 collab. Seriously, that would be amazing!
