Avowed Gets a New Update for March 2026

Originally released on Xbox and PC on February 18, 2025, the RPG Avowed recently marked its first anniversary with a major update. This patch included numerous bug fixes and improvements players had been asking for, such as new playable classes, the Quarterstaff weapon, a dedicated Photo Mode, and the option to customize a character’s appearance during a game. Players who finish the game can now also enjoy a New Game Plus mode, letting them restart with their existing progress and abilities. Following the 2.0 update, Obsidian has just released another significant patch for players to download.

Friends’ Funniest Episode Quietly Broke a 5-Season-Long Trend

By Season 4 of Friends, Rachel and Ross’s on-again, off-again relationship was the only major romance within the friend group. However, the season finale introduced another potential couple: Chandler and Monica. While fans enjoy “The One Where Everybody Finds Out” for resolving the Rachel and Ross drama, the episode is also significant because it hints at a growing connection between Chandler and Monica.

It’s Yet Another End of an Era for PlayStation

PlayStation has recently shifted its strategy in a few key ways. They’ve stopped releasing their games on PC, meaning titles like Ghost of Yotei and Marvel’s Wolverine will only be playable on the PS5. While multiplayer games like Marathon and Marvel Token will still be available on multiple platforms, don’t expect to see these other games on anything but PlayStation consoles. Adding to these changes, PlayStation also closed Bluepoint Games, a studio known for high-quality remakes and remasters, suggesting a change in how PlayStation will handle its older titles. These moves represent a significant shift for the company in a short period of time.

TwitchCon Has New Rules to Keep Streamers and Fans Safe

Going to TwitchCon is amazing – you really get to see your favorite streamers in person and they’re often streaming their experiences as they walk around. But it’s also been a bit scary, honestly. Last October, something awful happened to Emiru, a popular streamer. She was assaulted during a meet-and-greet when a fan hugged her without her permission. After that, Twitch made it clear they won’t tolerate any harassment and said they’re working to make security better at future events. It’s good to hear they’re taking it seriously, but it definitely made me think twice about how things are handled.

Crimson Desert, Curiosity, and the Zelda: Breath of the Wild Effect

But Zelda: Breath of the Wild ignited a phenomenon far more broad than the sight-driven discovery and curiosity-fueled exploration of one individual’s experience. Its lack of handholding and minimalistic approach to what was once the traditional open-world formula almost made it an asynchronous multiplayer game of sorts, where players cooperated with one another by sharing their discoveries online and through word of mouth. There was no guide book large enough or publication with enough time or resources to reveal every single secret housed within Breath of the Wild‘s Hyrule, so players took it upon themselves to help others find what they believed at the time was something no one else had ever seen. Nine years later, Crimson Desert takes a similar approach in its open-world design, effectively reviving what I like to call the “Breath of the Wild effect.”

Minecraft’s Baby Mobs & Tiny Takeover Are Symptoms of a Bigger Problem

It’s hard to say exactly why some players are unhappy with recent updates to Minecraft. Is it because Mojang is focusing more on small improvements and letting players customize the game instead of making big changes? Or is it because players expect updates to be different than they used to? The truth is, it’s a combination of both. Recent updates, like Tiny Takeover, add small features to a game that already feels complete, and players are judging them based on how updates used to be delivered over 15 years ago.
