Minecraft Live Reveals The Copper Age Release Date, New Game Drop, and More

At the recent Minecraft Live event, Mojang shared details about upcoming content for Minecraft. The biggest announcement was the September 30th release of The Copper Age update, but they also revealed a new game mode, a fishing add-on, and a collaboration with Dragon Ball Z.

As a huge Minecraft fan, I always get so excited for Minecraft Live! It’s when Mojang shares all the cool new stuff they’re working on. They actually already had one earlier this year where they showed off the ‘Chase the Skies’ game drop and the ‘Vibrant Visuals’ update. Now that we’re halfway through the year, we’ve gotten a sneak peek at what they’re planning for the rest of 2025 and even beyond – it looks amazing!

Mojang announced during Minecraft Live that the next big update, called The Copper Age, will launch on September 30th. This means players won’t have to wait much longer to experience all the new features coming to Minecraft! The update includes helpful additions like the copper golem, which can sort items in chests to help organize your base. You’ll also get new copper tools, weapons, and armor, as well as the shelf block. While some players have already tested these features through Snapshots and Betas, everyone will be able to enjoy them when the update officially releases.

At Minecraft Live, Mojang announced ‘Mounts of Mayhem,’ the fourth major update planned for 2025, following The Copper Age. While details might change based on player feedback, this update will introduce the nautilus, a rideable underwater creature, to the game. Riding a nautilus will give players increased underwater speed and allow them to breathe indefinitely. Players will also get a new weapon: the spear, whose damage increases with the player’s movement speed. The update, expected around the holidays, will also add the zombie horse and zombie nautilus to Survival mode, along with other new features.

  • Nautilus Armor

During the presentation, several announcements were made, including a new add-on called Friendly Fishing, available on the Minecraft Marketplace. Developed with Conservation International, this add-on aims to promote environmental awareness by letting players catch various types of fish, even sharks. All money earned from the add-on will support Conservation International’s work. Minecraft Live also revealed a partnership with *Dragon Ball Z*. This collaboration will come to Bedrock Edition in late 2025, bringing content from the anime series to the game. As a sneak peek, players can currently download a free Super Saiyan Hair item from the Marketplace.

2025 is shaping up to be an exciting year for *Minecraft*, and Mojang shows no signs of stopping. Players can expect two more game releases before the year ends, giving them even more to enjoy.
