Twitch streamer Asmongold recently suggested he makes over $12 million a year, but surprisingly, he isn’t sure where the money is coming from. While high earnings aren’t unusual for popular Twitch streamers, what’s different with Asmongold is his apparent lack of awareness about his own income.
Asmongold, also known as Zachariah Hoyt, has often shared details about his income with his audience. He previously mentioned earning around $40,000 on Twitch in under a month back in March 2025, even while intentionally reducing the number of ads during his streams. He also admitted during that discussion that he wasn’t sure how much revenue his YouTube channel generates, as he hadn’t looked at the numbers recently.
Asmongold Has No Idea Where His Money Comes From
On a recent Allcraft Podcast, streamer Asmongold told finance YouTuber Caleb Hammer he owes $4 million in taxes. Hammer then estimated Asmongold earns between $6 and $8 million per year after taxes, but Asmongold responded that he likely makes much more. Surprisingly, Asmongold admitted he isn’t fully aware of how he earns his money, stating, “I don’t even know where [the money] came from.” He clarified that he received a tax form showing millions in income.
A 1099 form is a tax document companies send to freelancers and contractors, showing their total earnings. The IRS also receives a copy to ensure income is accurately reported. Asmongold recently explained that he didn’t fully realize how much he’d made until he received his 1099 form, probably when he was preparing to file his taxes.
Asmongold Proves He’s Not Much of a Big Spender, Again
Hammer, after learning how much the streamer makes, suggested limiting yearly spending to around $2 million. Asmongold was shocked by this, questioning how he would even spend that much. As the most-watched streamer in 2025, he’s expected to continue earning a lot from platforms like Twitch, Kick, and YouTube. However, he doesn’t seem interested in changing his lifestyle much, once stating his simple financial rule: “As long as my card works when I buy a taco, I’m good.”

During the Allcraft Podcast, Rich Campbell playfully suggested using Asmongold’s considerable earnings to build a pyramid and fill it with a museum dedicated to his best streaming moments – a concept Asmongold seemed to like. Although it was just a joke, Asmongold reportedly earns so much that, in theory, it could actually be done.
Asmongold received a temporary ban from Twitch in April after making a statement some found objectionable during a livestream. He then took a break for health reasons, but he’s now back and streaming consistently.
