Elon Musk: Grok 3.0 Will Be Most Powerful AI in World Sooner Than You Think

As a seasoned technology analyst with over two decades of experience in the industry, I have witnessed the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence (AI) and its transformative impact on various sectors. Elon Musk’s latest announcement about his xAI start-up’s AI chatbot, Grok, piqued my interest, especially given his bold claims that Grok 3.0 will be “the most powerful AI in the world by every metric” and surpass its rivals like ChatGPT-4.

At Gigafactory Texas on Monday, Elon Musk, the tech visionary and entrepreneur, held an extensive conversation with Dr. Jordan B. Peterson. They explored various subjects during this engaging interview.

One possibility: Grok AI, developed by xAI start-up, could unveil groundbreaking capabilities as early as late 2024. Elon Musk expressed confidence that the next version, Grok 2.0, would match ChatGPT-4’s performance. He even suggested that Grok’s subsequent iteration might outperform OpenAI’s chatbot entirely.

Grok 3.0 to be most powerful AI in world, per Musk

Elon Musk announced that Grok 2.0 has completed its training with around 15,000 H100 GPUs. At present, the xAI team is devoted to resolving issues and making adjustments. They’ve been working on this for a month now.

Elon Musk anticipates that xAI may introduce an updated version of Grok, named Grok 2.0, as early as August. This new iteration is expected to offer comparable or nearly identical capabilities to OpenAI’s advanced chatbot model, ChatGPT-4.

At Memphis’ data center, xAI has teamed up with X platform and Nvidia crews to facilitate the education of Grok 3.0 as part of the “Memphis Supercluster training cluster,” as Musk announced on Monday via tweet. A sum of 100,000 H100s, all liquid-cooled, are being employed for this intensive training process.

“Elon Musk’s AI project, Grok 3.0, is anticipated to become the world’s strongest artificial intelligence and is planned for rollout by December.”

Musk pointed out that this represents a substantial benefit when it comes to developing the world’s most robust and capable AI system, according to all relevant measures.

Yesterday, Musk announced on Twitter and subsequently confirmed during an interview that Grok 3.0 is expected to launch in December. He stated that this new version is projected to outperform all other AI systems currently available, including the latest version of ChatGPT, making it the most powerful AI worldwide in every aspect.

As a crypto investor, I’m excited to be part of a project that boasts a remarkable advantage: we aim to train the world’s most powerful AI by all metrics by the end of this year. This means that our technology will outperform competitors in various aspects, providing superior results and added value.

Musk raises $6 billion for Grok

Around two months ago, xAI secured an impressive $6 billion investment from notable backers including Andreessen Horowitz, Sequoia Capital, and Saudi Arabian Prince Al Waleed bin Talal.

Musk’s xAI is in the process of growing its team and is currently seeking to hire highly skilled and talented individuals to contribute to the development of Grok 3.0 and subsequent versions. Launched last year, Grok became available on the X app for Premium subscribers.
