Pokemon Legends: Z-A Early Copies Are Already Out in the Wild

Some copies of Pokemon Legends: Z-A are appearing unexpectedly, with social media reports indicating that a few players have gotten their hands on the game early. This means Pokemon Legends: Z-A launched about two weeks before its official release date of October 16th, although it’s currently unknown how these copies were acquired.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A will bring players back to Lumiose City, a location first seen in Pokemon X and Y. This new game is a step forward for the series, featuring battles that happen in real-time, much like in games such as Xenoblade Chronicles. Pokemon Legends: Z-A also reintroduces Mega Evolution as a key part of battling, and we’ve already seen new Mega Evolved versions of Pokemon like Dragonite. A Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of Pokemon Legends: Z-A will also be available, offering improved performance and graphics.

PSA: Pokemon Legends Z-A Is Already Out In The Wild

Even before its release, Pokemon Legends: Z-A is making waves with new gameplay features, and now it’s also broken its release date. According to reports from GoNintendo and Kotaku, a Twitter user named Pory_Leeks has revealed that some people already have copies of the game. Pory_Leeks shared a picture originally posted on 4chan (which has since been archived). The photo showed what appears to be the character creation screen, displaying four skin tone options for both male and female player characters. Pory_Leeks didn’t share any other information about Pokemon Legends: Z-A, only that the game is in the hands of players two weeks before its scheduled October 16 launch.

Someone who follows Pokemon noticed that the user interface in the leaked image looked like official screenshots, which made the original claim seem more believable. However, it’s important to remember that all leaks and rumors should be viewed with skepticism until Pokemon Legends: Z-A is officially available. For those eager to buy Pokemon Legends: Z-A when it comes out, there will be several ways to do so. GameStop has announced a midnight launch event for Pokemon Legends: Z-A, with select stores opening at 12:00 AM Eastern on October 16 (that’s 9:00 PM Pacific on October 15).

Customers who pre-ordered Pokemon Legends: Z-A at GameStop can now collect their copies and receive a special tote bag, available while stocks last. As trainers get ready to battle in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, it’s uncertain how much of the game’s content will be revealed before its release on October 16.
