The latest system upgrade for the PlayStation 5 (PS5) by Sony is now accessible to all PS5 users. This new update brings in fresh emojis, enhancements to activity viewing, and modifications to parental controls.
In the latest update of Unicode (version 16.0), there are some exciting new emojis added to its collection. These include a fingerprint, a face with bags under eyes, a harp, a shovel, splatter, a leafless tree, and a root vegetable.

PS5 System Update Details
- We’ve made it simpler to view details about activities.
- Activity details are now fully displayed on cards.
- Potential spoilers will still be hidden.
- Unicode 16.0 emojis are now supported. You can use them in your messages.
- When you set the parental controls’ restriction level to Late Teens or Older, Communication and User-Generated Content will now default to Restrict. If you have previously set the level to Late Teens or Older, your previous settings will not be affected and it will be shown as Customize.
- We’ve improved system software performance and stability.
- We’ve improved the messages and usability on some screens.
Besides the PS5’s update, Sony also rolled out a minor update for the PS4. Update 12.50 primarily enhances “the functionality and user experience of certain screens,” focusing on messages.
