Elon Musk Says: “I’m Not Going to Be Promoting Crypto”

As a long-time crypto investor with a keen interest in technology and innovation, I’ve witnessed Elon Musk’s influence on the crypto market firsthand. His recent appearance on the X Takeover podcast and his comments about Bitcoin and Dogecoin were particularly noteworthy.

Serial tech entrepreneur Elon Musk participated in today’s takeover podcast on Tesla Owners Silicon Valley’s account on his X social media platform. Sections of this video were later shared by several active members of the DOGE community on the same platform.

In the podcast interview, Musk discussed his current views on Bitcoin as well as revisited his past comments about the cryptocurrency in some old YouTube videos that surfaced approximately two years ago.

Elon Musk, I’d like to extend my sincere thanks for gracing us with your presence at the @theXtakeover. Your participation in our event was greatly appreciated by our community, as we valued the effort you put into making it despite your hectic schedule. Not only did you showcase your innovative spirit, but also ignited our collective inspiration.

Musk’s take on Bitcoin, Dogecoin and crypto promotion

When queried about his perspective on the foremost cryptocurrency, Musk expressed the belief that “Bitcoin and perhaps some other cryptos have value.” The influential tech entrepreneur revealed his fondness for Dogecoin due to his affection for “canines and internet humor.”

Musk clarified that he has no plans to seriously endorse any cryptocurrency. At most, he might make lighthearted comments about it. Moreover, he cautioned that any videos depicting him promoting crypto are likely deepfakes.

As a crypto investor, I want to clarify that I won’t be actively endorsing or promoting cryptocurrencies with a serious tone. At most, I may make light-hearted comments about them. However, I do believe in the potential of Bitcoin and possibly some other digital currencies. Additionally, I have a personal affinity for Dogecoin due to my fondness for dogs and memes.

Certain prominent Dogecoin social media figures may have interpreted Elon Musk’s tweet as playful promotion, and in response, they shared his quote alongside amusing memes that incorporated elements from The Lion King animation.

DOGE is the only crypto truly supported by Musk

The CEO of Tesla maintains his strong affinity for Dogecoin, as evidenced in this podcast interview. Although Musk has been less active in discussing it on social media lately, both Tesla and SpaceX continue to transact DOGE in their online shops for merchandise. Moreover, the planned lunar mission DOGE-1, led by SpaceX, is still on Musk’s agenda.

Over the past few years, Elon Musk’s frequent tweets about DOGE, the canine coin, significantly increased its price. However, his influence on the coin’s pricing power waned substantially afterwards. According to U.Today’s report, last week, Musk’s X platform deleted Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency hashmojis, so they no longer appear when a crypto hashtag is added.
